Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Cerro Punta could be a breeze or it could drag on forever. We've rounded up some useful hints that will help you start your unforgettable escape on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you carry the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fuels, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as you can. Choose a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to take a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
