Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well enough. We've made a list of top travel tips that will help get your Horstmar holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, put in your passport, travel docs, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a laptop filled with your favourite movies are good options. If you hope to take a short nap, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll arrive at your destination feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) hiding in your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive substances, such as fuel and fireworks, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and go for shoes that are flat and easy to slip on and off.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your lower limbs often.
