Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well organized. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will get your Lavello vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, travel documents, wallet and medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy book and a tablet filled with your favorite shows are some fantastic options. If you hope to take a quick snooze, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you arrive feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as you can. Dress in loose, breathable clothing and bring a cardigan just in case you get chilly. Pick a pair of well-fitting, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the flight. Leave the stilettos and heavy hiking boots in your main luggage.
- The result of sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect passengers on long-distance flights. The great news is there are ways to lower your risk of developing it. Keep your fluids up, get up and wander the aisles as much as you can and wear compression tights or socks.
