We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a stress-free experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be zooming through airport security and exploring Maastricht-Airport in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack in your passport, important documents, cash and medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a tablet crammed with your favourite movies are some terrific options. If you intend to catch forty winks, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you arrive looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by dressing in layers, and wear slightly roomy, flat shoes like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
