Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well. Follow these handy travel tips that will help get your Paxico vacation started on the right note.What to pack in your hand luggage:

• A plane trip can be a great experience if you carry the right stuff. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean pair of socks and a good novel. Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:

• Make sure you don't have a Swiss Army knife lurking in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive goods, such as bleach and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).

What to wear on a flight:

• The goal here is to be as comfortable as possible. Layer yourself up in natural fibers and take a cardigan just in case you get cold. Opt for flat, slightly roomy shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the flight. Leave the stilettos and heavy boots in your checked luggage.
• Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance flying is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this, make the most of every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are another simple way to help reduce this risk.

• First things first. Your boarding pass and travel ID will need to be presented to security personnel. Keep them handy so you don't hold up the line.
