No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of handy tips that will get your Sinso-ri escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack your passport, important documents, credit cards and medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a laptop filled with your favorite shows are some fantastic options. If you plan to catch up on some sleep, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll arrive at your destination looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The best way to ensure a comfortable flight often lies in the clothes you wear. Prepare for changes in temperature by layering up. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin gets too cold. Shoes like flip flops and heels are best left in your checked suitcase. Instead, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you later.
- The serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing leg and foot exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this happening. Wearing a quality pair of compression tights or socks also helps reduce the risk.
