No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've put together a list of handy tips that will help get your Valuyki vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you bring the right gear. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh change of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The key to a comfortable flight is as simple as the clothes you wear. Prepare for temperature changes by layering up. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin begins to cool down. Shoes like stilettos, flip flops and lace-up boots are best left for other occasions. Even though they may be your favorites, opt for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will appreciate it.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long flights is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity. To prevent this from happening, make the most of every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help reduce this risk.
