This is a fantastic cozy cabin in a picturesque location. The host was helpful, welcoming and always friendly. Our family made several wonderful memories and we hope to return soon!
This is our 4th stay, we have stayed different seasons and the the grounds have been beautiful each time, the house and views are amazing and the hosts very gracious. Looking forward to returning and making more memories.
Four sisters from Montana, Houston, Atlanta and Floyd - and we enjoyed a long weekend with the leaves changing, fun in Floyd and driving the Blue Ridge Pkwy! The property was gorgeous and we had had plenty of room! The sunrises in the back were picture perfect- the kitchen was well outfitted, spotless! We hope to return!
this was our second time at Tsuga. If you like to hike and love the outdoors, it's a great place to visit. The owners are amazing and are available any time to help.
This was our second time staying at Tsuga on the Ridge. It is thoughtfully decorated, clean, comfortable and well stocked. The location and view are breathtaking! There is something very special about this cabin- all your worries go away! We love it here it and will be back!
The house, the grounds, the view all conspire to keep you relaxed and amazed by the beauty. The kitchen is well stocked, bedrooms and living area comfortable and attractively decorated. Clara is a warm, proactive, and responsive host. I always hate to leave.
This was our third trip, and it was just as fantastic as the first time. The house, the view, the property were simply amazing.. Clara the owner was great, answering our questions promptly. We especially enjoyed the sunsets and the Bird Watching while relaxing on the back deck and the observation deck., they were awesome. We can't wait to return.
This was our second stay at Tsuga, Fall instead of Spring this time. The property ower Clara was great, the house was perfect, and view was fantastic. The view changes everytime you look out from the back deck or obsevation deck, and it was so quiet, only the sounds of nature. House was well stocked and very clean, whatever you forgot to bring, they had it. Looking forward to staying there again next year, can't wait!!
The cabin was great, clean, very well equipped with everything you could need. It also has great charm with the old cabins bookending the addition. The great room/living room was large and very comfortable. We loved how secluded the cabin was. The views were by far the best part. The apple trees next to the deck were deer magnets. Even had the chance to see two large bucks, which you never see. We would absolutely stay there again! Thank you!
Stunning views, very comfortable, well furnished home. Beds were super comfortable. The view did not disappoint even with cool weather and strong winds. Clara was so helpful with great directions to arrive and super directions for the hikes. This is a beautiful part of the country. We are already planning to return. Had an amazing lunch at Chateau Morrisette which is surprisingly close. I totally recommend this home and the pictures are true to life.
I don’t even know where to start. I guess I’ll start with the obvious, Clara the host, is absolutely amazing. We actually have stayed at Tsuga 3+ plus years and she’s great every time. So accommodating. It really feels like home every time. The view and the grounds are amazing. House and beds…so comfortable! We never want to leave. Looking forward to turning our weekend next year into a whole week at Tsuga!
We just returned from a lovely and relaxing stay at this charming home. The property location is off to itself which provides for privacy and quiet. The views from the home are stunning and there is an overlook as well. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch at various points throughout the stay as well as enjoying the wood burning fireplace throughout our stay. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms and kitchen had everything we needed plus more. Communication with the owner was quick and easy. I forgot my Kindle at the home and the cleaner/owner worked together quickly to let me know and ship it to me. We will be back for another stay in the future!
We have stayed at a lot of vacation rentals over the last 10 years. Tsuga on the Ridge remains at the very top of our ever expanding list. I do not have space to list all the reasons why but other rave reviews all tell the truth - as does the listing itself: This is a magical place, clearly loved by the owners. It is amazing they share it with strangers as they do. We had a much needed mini vacation at the peak of fall color and in amazing weather. We hiked, we star gazed, we visited wineries and restaurants ,, but it's the house, it's property and it's famed views that remain the highlight of the trip. We found it very hard to leave this morning and we will definitely be back again!
What a wonderful place. A mix of old-fashioned log cabin with convenience of modern amenities. The mature grounds with oh so many different varieties of trees and shrubs attracted wildlife galore. We put a little sugar water in a hummingbird feeder outside the kitchen window. Hummingbird's were doing their arial acrobats within minutes. Other visitors were dear and at one time a bear cup running across the driveway with apples in it's mouth. Not sure where mom was. The generator was a blessing when power went out. Would have been a restless four hours otherwise. Interior of the home is outstanding. All bedrooms were cozy and comfortable. The master bedroom is exception with a king-sized bed that my 22 month old granddaughter was thrilled to roll around on and perform faceplants into the pillows. All and all we had a wonderful time and look forward to getting back there some day. I can't end this message without saying how wonderful and sweat the host, Clara, was. Such a pleasure to talk with her.
I am so thankful we came to Tsuga on the Ridge! The house was clean, beds comfortable, and the view is amazing! We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
This is a great property for a weekend get away. It was everything it was advertised to be and more. I would stay there again in a heart beat. The host, Clara, was great as well.
The house is great! Very, very clean. It has everything that you need. The view from the back porch is truly unbelievable. The property is secluded and very quiet, but 15 minutes from Meadows of Dan and Chateau Morrisette Winery and Restaurant. Communication with the host was great! Without a doubt, this is the most peaceful place we have stayed at.
Our family loved the time here. The view is spectacular. We are going to make it an annual family trip. Clara was wonderful and responded quickly with any questions.
This was our 2nd time staying at this amazing property. Clara is a wonderful hostess and reaches out the day of your arrival to make sure you are set and don’t have any questions. The property is clean, cozy, and stocked with all necessary items. The views are fantastic! Thank you Clara for having us as your guests once again.

Wonderful getaway!
Lovely place with gorgeous views. Home is clean, very well stocked, relaxing and cozy! Owners have put a lot of thought in making this a wonderful retreat. Clara is kind and accommodating. Highly recommend walking to the three ponds, cooking out on the deck and star gazing, visiting nearby Primland for dinner and observatory, hiking buffalo mountain and experiencing various wineries when you go!
We celebrated two family birthdays in January on The Ridge. This was our very first VRBO rental. It couldn’t have been more perfect! The house was amazing and had everything we could have needed. This house is a much loved space and it feels like a home. So comfortable and warm even in the cold month of January ❤️ perfect mountain getaway!!!!
We booked super last minute and not only was the host able to set up in time but was very gracious! The cabin is restored beautifully, inside and out. The views are one in a million! The history of the cabin itself is incredible, being the only house in the adjoining protected lands and once being owned by journalist Burke Davis! We didn’t want to leave but definitely hope to be back!
Tsuga on the Ridge offered everything we could have wished for to celebrate a fun holiday weekend with our family. Our 3 college age kids had plenty of room to spread out, our daughter’s lab loved to race around the expansive lawn, the view is absolutely incredible, we played games, explored the nearby town and curled up to watch movies into the night by a warm fire. Clara is a gracious and super responsive host. We highly recommend this amazing stay. Thanks for the memories!
