「If you’re looking for a vacation to take you out of the rat race and just clear your mind. This cozy cabin is the place to go. It is 30 minutes from the main highway so plan accordingly with food and such, but once you’re there, there is no reason to leave. Great experience and the host was very informative. Looking forward to next time.」

「The house was the perfect home built lovingly by the owner. The views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range were spectacular. We hiked Zapata Falls, Monte Vista Wildlife Refuge & The Great Sand Dunes National Park with our border collies. The owner gave us lots of local information plus our dogs loved his dog! All had a blast running & chasing sticks on the property every evening. Sunsets were awesome!」

「This is the second time we have stayed here and once again, it was great. This property very well appointed and well maintained. It is a short walk to Main St. La Veta, which is very nice. Sitting on the deck in the afternoon, with the sun and the Cuchara River is very relaxing. It is a great choice!」

「We had an amazing stay and were one of the closest homes to the park. House is very remote and secluded - I considered this a plus as we weren’t looking to go out to dinner, etc. Be sure to do your grocery shopping in Alamosa prior to arrival. Barb was super responsive and the home was clean and spacious. The back porch has perfect views of the mountains and sand dunes and the night sky is breathtaking with no light pollution! I highly recommend this if your looking for a quiet spot to get away...

「Everything was great. The cabin is in a great location, and you have access to a variety of parks, trails, etc. The cabin is clean and extremely well organized. We got hit by a mid-March snowstorm and got snowed in for a day, and Krista went out of her way to get us plowed out and provide information. Great overall experience and highly recommended!」

「We spent our time at Cuchara Park and this home was the perfect location for us. The Host goes above and beyond here. I highly recommend this place - I will still hear next time we come through La Veta. The house has everything you need! Perfect for a man like me who loves chopping wood and having fires. The inside had a big kitchen for the wives. The rooms have tons of board games for the kids. You will love this place; I know we did.」
