Welcome to our place in the sun, the South West Florida sun that is.

The villa has 4 double bedrooms and so sleeps 8.

It is situated on the narrow Fort Myers Beach (FMB) otherwise known as Estero Island. Don't worry there is road/bridge access at both ends of the island. Being on the Gulf of Mexico side of Florida and with FMB being reasonably sheltered and shallow, the sea really is warm. In the hotter months of July and August it is almost like getting into a bath, beating even the Caribbean.

The villa is located on a no-through street in a quiet neighborhood. To get to the beach is an 7 minute saunter down to the end of the road and to Estero Boulevard. The public beach access is just to the left of our street (see photos). All the beach / sunset photos on this site are taken from the beach at this point directly across the road. We love the beach just here, there are no large hotels nearby and we have never had a case where we couldn't pick the spot we wanted to camp up for the day. For the beach we are all prepared for you – there are beach chairs, umbrellas, mats, floats and a trolley for you to transport it all. There are also bicycles as this is a lovely way to see the island.

If you prefer to relax by a pool, one of the main features of the villa is its private 33 foot infinity edge, south-facing swimming pool. This is at the rear of the property and gives onto the canal providing, all in all, a very secluded private area where you can really enjoy the outdoor Florida lifestyle. We have everything you need for the pool and deck with proper pool loungers, floats and pool toys for the kids. The pool itself has a shallow end of 3’6” increasing to around 4’6” at about two thirds along the pool. This is for relaxing and playing in but the pool does also have a proper deep end and is big enough to do laps in. At the shallow end there is a full width bench seat with 3 water jets which you can adjust to gently massage your lower back as you relax in the pool with a drink. At night the pool is equipped with multifunction underwater lighting which you can set to your taste for your night time dips.

If you hear a large splash from the canal it is NOT (as we first thought) one of the neighbors who has fallen in, but a dolphin. They regularly chase down fish into the canal at the front of the pool and they can get quite animated when they pounce on the cornered fish. If you miss them when they arrive, they HAVE to come back past to get back to the sea, usually around 10 minutes later – great photo opportunity.

Fort Myers Beach is a friendly laid-back area with all the usual Florida attractions. The villa itself is walking distance from restaurants, a church, children's playground, park, recreation center and more. The house is equipped with Wifi which works inside or outside the villa, right down to the dock. The WiFi has been upgraded for e.g. multiple zoom calls if you are on a working holiday.
