We stayed in this building before and loved it. The beach is wonderful and the views are amazing. But this room was awful from when we first walked in. The first thing we noticed was the cigarette smoke smell. When we walked out on the balcony, the chairs were ripped, there were toe nail clippings and a rag had been left. After an hour and a half of being in the room, our feet were black on the bottom. The counter tops were dirty and there were dead bugs on the floor. Light bulbs were out in the condo and the balcony. I sent an email about the lights, smell and ripped chairs the company said they would put it on the maintenance list for the next day. Well maintenance knocked on the door and gave us light bulbs. A couple of hours later, a woman from the rental company walks in unannounced. We never received a call or a text of when she would be coming. She starts spraying some air freshener to cover the smoke smell and then left. The bed, couch and chair were extremely uncomfortable. We could feel the springs in the mattress. My back was hurting from the first night. The toilet lids are cracked and peeling. When we were leaving, we checked all the drawers and found a pair of women's underwear in it that did not belong to us. This just confirmed that the condo was not cleaned or properly checked before we checked in. I would warn everyone to stay away from this rental company. I can't recommend the building enough, but stay away from this company.

Early 32nd Anniversary Trip!

The condo was so clean and welcoming with a beautiful view! We loved the furniture and start up supplies and having beach service was a wonderful plus! We hope to be back!

Amazing!!

Everything from the view to everything we needed.It was really great. If I had to complain about anything, it could use a really good deep cleaning. Other than that it was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. I would stay here again. Thank you!!

Sister time seaside

The view is always impeccable. We saw dolphins from the balcony every day. But for the price, I was a little disappointed. Every condo I’ve stayed previously has had some basic items: welcome basket of snacks, couple bottles of water in the refrigerator, board games, deck of cards or card games, books for those rainy days. Beach towels, sometimes sunscreen, local tourist attractions pamphlets, and welcome book with basic info necessary. Management was lovely, the pool and hot tub were great and the beach never disappoints. My sister and I had a great time. We recently lost our mother so it was an opportunity to continue our healing process at our and her favorite place, the beach.

Nice place

The place we were supposed to stay contacted me 3 days before we were due to leave so we booked with Pelican Isles at the last minute. I am sure glad we did. It was much better than the other place. It was clean and right on the beach. We needed a new part for the dryer to work. I contacted the office, spoke to Carol. She had us one the very next day. I will definitely stay here again.

We received a phone call at 2:52 pm on the day of check in that the room wasn’t ready and she didn’t know when it would be ready. She said she would call us when it was ready. I never received a phone call or any further communication from the rental company from that point on. Finally at 5 pm we went and tried the code and it worked. Our check in was supposed to be at 4. The unit is in major need of updating. The master bed is horribly uncomfortable, light fixtures are falling out of the ceiling, there was hair and sand in the silverware drawer and many cups were dirty, the washer and drier are the smallest I have ever seen (it will only wash 2 towels at a time), we killed a cockroach, and the master bath wouldn’t drain. The whole condo is dingy and outdated. I called on Monday and Tuesday about the shower not draining. No one called me back. I emailed them on Wednesday and never got a reply. We had 6 people and could only use one shower. Between that and the late check-in, I want a refund!!

the room was ok. I think it was priced a little too high, but we made the most out of it. appliances are old and out dated, along with mostly everything in the condo. our Dryer broke on the 2nd day and they had to order parts. they were able to wash and dry a load for us, but not having the dryer for 5 days was not ideal! The positives were the View, the cold A/C and great working fans, and the guest shower. it was very spacious. Overall not a bad place to stay. but not for the price. I would of been satisfied if the place was half what i paid.

LOVED IT

Easy check in. We stayed in 305, it was clean comfortable with a great view of the water. The elevators were great (2) no waiting time. The unit had all the tools we needed to cook etc. No trouble parking always a spot close by. Looking forward to returning.

We had a great time relaxing. We really enjoy staying at Pelican Isle on Oskaloosa Island. The condo was very clean, well equipped, and nicely furnished. The master bedroom has a very comfortable bed. The ocean view is very nice and you are only steps away from the beach.

Nice condo. Was clean and neat. Not a lot of decorations just pretty plain. I liked the no fuss atmosphere. My only concern was the washer was extremely small. Thankfully it was just my husband and me. Will stay again in the future. The view is stunning.

Highly recommend this condo!!

This condo is very spacious, clean, and directly on the beach. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony early mornings and evenings. The pool is situated further down the building, so it was very quite. We had two chairs and an umbrella every day of our stay which was awesome!! ( less to transport back and forth) The communication was perfect as we were sent emails about every step of the process. We were also sent reminders throughout our stay about different things to make our stay more enjoyable. The condo provided plenty of linens and the kitchen was well stocked. I enjoyed having the washer/ dryer unit as now I don’t have a ton of laundry to do when I get back home!! Lol

View amazing but could be cleaner and updated

This property had everything we needed for our week long stay. However it could use some updating( new bed, furniture, decor) the cleanliness was subpar. Bedroom furniture was dust covered and the floors had sand everywhere upon arrival. The beach view with daily beach service and easy access are hard to beat though.

Disappointing

The outside bathrooms and hot tub was closed. Umbrellas were to close together and have to stand in line to get one at 6am. People reserving but we were told we couldn't. A lot of rules that other condos don’t have. Where you rinse sand off was inconvenient because the door to go in the building was closed. Pelican isle is not a condo we will be going back to.

Great Vacation!

This is my 3rd time staying at Pelican Isle (all different units)! I absolutely love the building and location of this condo. We prefer to stay farther away from the pier because it less crowded. This is my first time working with Sunset Resort Rentals. They were very easy to work with. I originally had a different week booked through them and I had to change it. Luckily this unit was still open with the week I wanted, and they were very accommodating in getting our dates changed. This unit is on the 3rd floor and has a beautiful view of the beach. One suggestion I have is to get higher chairs and tables, because you have to look through the rails. If you have younger kids that like to climb, though, it may be a better option for you. With it only being a one bedroom condo, the bunk beds were perfect for my two kids! The condo itself was very kid-friendly, which means very few breakables. When we arrived, the condo was very clean and ready to go for us. The furniture was all very comfortable.There were plenty of blankets, sheets, and pillows. The water pressure was great in the showers, too! We loved the key pad to get in and out of the room with, also. The nice big TV that turns was an added bonus. We weren't able to get the Roku to work, but we brought our fire stick and it worked great with the internet. We also loved the beach service. This unit comes with two chairs and an umbrella everyday. The man working with the beach service was so nice, and he even helped get us set up with our friends every day that were staying three doors down from our unit. Overall we had a great week! I do have a couple suggestions. We did use our kitchen quite a bit during this time. I would recommend the unit getting some new knives, because we couldn't find any very sharp. It was hard to even cut up an apple. We also had leftovers some nights and very little containers to store it in. There also wasn't any measuring spoons. These are very minor concerns (which is still why we give an excellent rating), but something for the owners to consider. We would definitely pick this unit again if we were searching for a one bedroom condo!

Great beach vacation

Overall we had a great stay. At one point we had an issue with the stove, and I was able to call and get an immediate response. A maintenance person was sent out and took care of the problem quickly, and he was very friendly. The unit is well-furnished and well-stocked with supplies. New furniture in the family room, and the bed is very comfortable. The only concern I had was that when we arrived there were handprints (from sunscreen or lotion) and dirt on some of the appliance handles, doorknobs, and the shower door, which made me feel like the unit was not cleaned thoroughly before we arrived. Since we are in the season of Covid-19, I expected a higher degree of cleanliness. But overall the unit was in good shape. We have stayed at Pelican Isle several times over the years, and have always been satisfied with the accommodations.
