We enjoyed our stay on Ford Lake. We Jetskied the lake, hiked trails, kayaked near by rivers, road ATVs , and visited both Ludington and Manistee. The cottage met all our needs.
We will be back.
We had a very nice stay at this home. It was clean and well appointed. Everything was as described in the listing. The lake is small and has a relaxed atmosphere about it.
My family and I loved our stay at the Lake House Getaway! It was the perfect up north spot to swim, fish, and have fires. The house was VERY accommodating for our 8 month old daughter. Our other older kids loved fishing and going on the kayaks. The lake was very quiet and peaceful. 30 minutes from Ludington was a plus. 10/10 would recommend staying here. We would love to come back!
My extended family was looking for a place we could all stay together on the water. This house met all of the needs with the second living space on the floor with the walkout basement so that our early to bed members would’ve be disturbed. We had a few minor hiccups when we arrived and Wendy the owner was incredibly responsive. The lake was great for paddle boarding or just floating around on. The kitchen is extremely well appointed with all appliances you can think of.. highly recommend this house to anyone!
Where do I start…..this house was fantastic! It exceeded our expectations in every category from cleanliness to the beautiful lake views to all the great amenities! The kids enjoyed hanging out fishing on the dock and using the kayaks. It is not too far from Ludington where you can enjoy the beauty of Lake Michigan. We enjoyed the quietness of the area and how peaceful Ford Lake was. The turtles that would swim by the dock were the cutest and our daughter named every one of them. This is definitely a home we would recommend and one we will stay at again in the hopefully near future!!
The property was as advertised. It was the perfect size for our family(7 of us). The downstairs worked as a separate living area and was well used. The lake was beautiful and the kayaks were a hit.
We always love staying here, and it’s become a family tradition! The house is clean, and a great setup on the lake. Wendy is always highly communicative as well.
Great place to gather with family and unwind. The home had plenty of room for everyone. Our Grandkids especially liked the trundle beds and video games! The Kitchen was well appointed with everything you need. Everyone enjoyed the Kayaks. We also found lots of fun things to do in Ludington!
Great place to chill for a weekend. Two kids live out of state a 3rd just moved back from another state. Together for our 40th anniversary in the mitten where we all love the outdoors. House very well equipped in kitchen, bar area, outdoor chairs and games, fire pit, dock in a pretty secluded part of Ford Lake. We brought our own boat and enjoyed beautiful weather. Plan to bring all things with you as groceries are 25 min away, one way but we loved it. Suggest host include more paper towrks, regular napkins and more trash bags when it's a full house though. Otherwise, truly enjoyed it!
This is the best VRBO we have ever stayed in. It’s spotless and spacious and has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. If you’re going to N Michigan and looking for a peaceful stay, this is it. Look no further.
We had a great time in your beautiful, roomy home! Kids (2 and 3) loved playing in the sand and we all had so much fun with your 4 kayaks! We had bonfires and s’mores in the evening and ate meals on the deck. A short drive (35 min) to Ludington to visit the beach there and some cool brewery/restaurants. We hope to be back soon!
It was very nice and clean, comfortable with a lot of conveniences!!! Like a washer and dryer:)
The fishing was fun off the dock and renting a pontoon boat was the best way to see the lake ! The lake is mucky at the shore but it does have a nice sand area for the kids to play in. It was a great time to unplug and enjoy time together as a family, with bonfires, s’mores, playing games, etc…
This was our second year vacationing at the Lake House.
The Lake House exceeded all our expectations. From kayaking, swimming or just enjoying coffee on the balcony, there was something for everyone.
The property manager was very responsive to any questions or needs. Also, their recommendations for places to visit and eat were perfect.
We plan to return to The Lake House next year!

Lake House Review
The cabin is located a nice quiet part of the lake. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is definitely it. The sandy beach was nice for the little kids to play around in and the back deck had plenty of chairs for everyone to sit while we enjoyed our conversations outside in the Michigan summer weather. The inside bedroom were cozy and comfortable. For two small families staying there, it was perfect. The kitchen was ok and did not have a lot of cookware so I would suggest you may want to bring your own skillet and cutting knives. There was only a few dishwasher pods so you may want to bring extra. There were also not a lot of bath towels so I would also recommend bringing extra towels and laundry detergent. Other than that, the place was great for our families and is on a beautiful spring fed inland lake. The owner is very responsive to if you have any check-in issues.
This home was absolutely perfect! Check in was seamless with the access code and address sent to us prior to arrival. Everything you could need was provided for you and the layout of the house was great for what we needed. The bar with the fridge in the basement allowed easy access to our drinks and food from the lake! The view from the patio in the morning is fantastic. We brought our jet ski and the dock was perfect to tie it up to. Can't wait to reserve it again!
Wendy was great at always answering questions promptly. This helped tremendously through the process. Place was great: very clean and well maintained. Nice bonfire pit right next to the water made enjoyable daytime fires. The lake was a perfect small lake for fishing to boot. Crystal clear water.
We were very happy with the price with all the amenities that were included.
Highly recommend.
We had a great time. We had our 20, 19, and 17 year kids with us. All the kids had their own rooms. The house was in great shape with no surprises. Nice upscale kitchen. The internet was strong. A plus for the kids.
The lake is a little off the beaten path. That is just what we were looking for. About a 25 minute ride to Ludington. Very peaceful spot. Enjoyed sitting on the deck looking at the lake. Very clear water.
We have stayed in many homes for vacation in Michigan. This was one of the best experiences we have had. Owners were easy to work with. Thinking about reserving a week for next summer right now.
The rental was beautiful, clean and well maintained. The covered decks were great and had it rained during our stay we would have definitely used them. I wish we could have spent more time at the rental but we have a small cottage across the lake and spent most of the time there. We basically needed the space for sleeping for my son and three grandsons. We love that area of the state…lots to do.
The rental was so impressive that my daughter’s fiancé plans on renting it next summer for his family get together.
I had never used Vrbo but it was easy to work with. Our host Wendy was awesome. So helpful.
My only concern…and it didn’t affect us , but if you have small children you would have to be creative for them to swim.
