"Staying here was one of the most memorable travel experiences I’ve had! Dunhuang is stunning, and the team made it effortless to explore and still unwind.
I booked a dome stargazing room and it was absolutely worth it. I’ve tried dome and yurt hotels before, but this one is on another level. There’s plenty of space for two, and the bathroom was a highlight. Nothing beats that shower after a dusty day in the desert. Adjustable AC and heat really matter with the desert’s temperature swings. The bed is big and comfy, and each dome stands alone, so it’s quiet and private. They also provide outdoor chairs and a table for stargazing every night.
The resort is only a few km from Mingsha Mountain, with an incredible view of it from the grounds, and close to the train station, airport and main sights. Breakfast was tasty (loved the steamed buns), and there are camels and ATVs on site.
Mr. Lu and Mr. Lee went above and beyond. They made check-in quick, helped plan my outings, drove me to each one, sorted my Mingsha Mountain and Mogao Grottoes tickets (bring your passport!) and handled my airport transfers.
Four days was enough to see a lot: Mingsha Mountain, nearby Crescent Spring town for food, shopping and traditional photoshoots, the Mogao Grottoes, the night market, and Yadan Geopark if you’re up for a road trip. Can’t recommend it enough!"
