I'll start with what we liked: the location and room size were great. We were able to fit our family of four into the spacious room and we were within a couple of minutes of all that downtown Gatlinburg has to offer.
However, we had issues immediately upon check-in. Our room keys wouldn't work and the door had to be reset. No biggie. But then we entered a room with an oddly short door into a room that smelled like mildew. The bathroom was a bit dirty around the toilet and had very little sink space. They also don't offer daily housekeeping so we had to ask for fresh towels each day.
The breakfast was decent but the general hotel felt like it needed an update. It seems like they're making efforts in this area, as the entire basement was off limit to guests while they redid the pool. We were very disappointed to learn the pool was closed since it was a huge part of the reason we chose this hotel.
Overall - needed updates throughout, felt a little rundown and not super clean (but not horribly dirty). Great location and minimally did the job we needed it to.
