Lakeside Stone Cottage on 6 acres on Hammond--pet friendly

"This is just a little gem of a place. If you like a little quite and solitude, and having a little reservoir almost all to yourself where you can watch the wildlife go by, this is your place! We used it as a base for hiking with our dogs in the area and it was perfectly pet friendly. I think our dogs even liked it better than home. They mostly enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evening with us while we had a post-hike cocktail and charcuterie, watching the various wildlife come in and out of the back yard. The view is gorgeous. I could sit there for hours with a good book and a pair of binoculars! So conveniently located to great hiking trails it made for the perfect basecamp for our little doggie adventures. We are already contemplating a return visit to check it out in the fall or spring!"

"This is a great overnight stop for people traveling with pets. The rooms and linens were clean enough but obviously had wear and stains from pets and prior visitors. Just a warning for picky travelers. If you're looking for a place between the PNW and Los Angeles for you and your pets, this is perfect. Allegedly there was breakfast included too but we left too early to take advantage of it. Check in/out was easy as well"

"What a great outdoor space to unwind, relax, and stay present with nature. It was a perfect space for my week long retreat! I loved the number of windows on the back which opened to a deck among the trees and stars. The communication prior to arrival was stellar. Very happy!"

"A group of women friends enjoyed this location in June2026. The place was spacious, plenty of parking, did not have central air but plenty of fans and window air conditioners to keep the place cool, with an amazing surround porch on a beautiful wooden property. We liked that this location was not 'in town" but only 5 minute drive away. My only complaints was the master bed was too soft and one of the air units output hose was pulled away from the window. I txted the location about this in the evening and they promptly fixed it the next day. Would definitely stay again."

"Great place to stay! They were well stocked up with kitchen supplies and appliances, which made cooking smooth and effortless. The Window AC Unit felt undersized and had hard a time keeping the whole space cool. We had to put a box fan in front of it to cool the unit down more. The Wifi was a little slow. It would have been preferred to have the Wifi router in the unit itself vs the garage. However, other than those minor things, it was a very quiet, clean, and beautiful place to stay. Very close to downtown Mt Shasta. Thank you Annette & Alan for providing us with great accommodations :)."
