Hill top romantic retreat

This vacation house was interesting in its setup and comfortable. We liked the pretty nature surrounding it too. The bed was comfy, nice to have a little kitchen to cook in and the couch was very comfortable too. Good place to stay for vacation in Glenwood Springs and close to place to eat and drink and shop.

The unit was very cute. Clean. The dwelling is on top of a two car garage. I can only assume it was the owner who opened the garage door below us causing the floor to rumble. It was a little startling. Overall it was nice.

The place was located 10 minutes away from Glenwood Spring in the peaceful countryside. The house was well equipped and nicely decorated. It had a washer and dryer which we needed badly. The view of the of Mount Sopris was incredible.

The property was only 10-15 minutes from downtown Glenwood Springs and we appreciated being able to stay somewhere quiet, private and remote but still close to activities. Plenty of windows that we could open for a nice breeze. Onsite parking is convenient. The king size bed was comfortable and the property had lots of natural light. I would stay here again.

The property is a simple, but honestly luxurious place to get away from it all. It's well maintained and has everything you need, including probably more than you need such as basic staples you might need for cooking. Despite the rather tight and treacherous driveway leading up to the property (don't bring more than one car and it better have AWD in winter) Mark did a great job of keeping it clear even in the midst of a snowstorm and was great at helping us get settled, to include grabbing a few extension cords for us to help with powering all our devices.

Decent location just outside of the city.
I prefer rural locations and privacy. This was outside of town and there was nothing behind the property so, that was nice, but it was right in the neighbor’s driveway and there was zero privacy. I traveled with my dog. I would not recommend staying here if you have a dog as the neighbor’s dog (the neighbor that shares your same staircase/entry) is always off leash and “doesn’t like other dogs,” per the owner. Often when we departed/arrived, one of us would have to physically walk the neighbor dog to their door so that we could enter safely into the property. Other than that, the view was pretty good and the cabin had what we needed. The couch needs to be replaced as you can’t lounge on it without the cushions slipping out and having to readjust constantly.

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Del Sol. It was beautiful, quiet, cozy and came complete with balcony, scenic views, and a record player to play classical music to set a sophisticated vibe. There were also movies and board games available and the kitchen came complete with a blender, pots and pans, and a crock pot as well as a toaster, gas range and microwave. Our only regret was that we didn't have more time to spend here. We will definitely try to stay at Casa Del Sol next visit! Mark, the host was great, communicative and helpful. I could not recommend Casa Del Sol more.

The cabin / garage apartment sits on the side of the hill on the outskirts of town. The views are stunning and the windows bring in warm sunshine. Didn’t use the upper bed but the king on the ground floor was very comfortable. Very clean and well maintained. 👍🏼👍🏼

This property was absolutely beautiful the studio style layout with windows everywhere gave you a feeling of being in the mountains with plenty of room and space to move around. We did not use the loft bed upstairs but that also is a great idea. I will definitely come back to this property. Mark the owner was exceptionally friendly and courteous

Beautiful Property
My family (including our dog) had a wonderful time staying at this immaculent property. The morning sunrise and night sky were sensational and we really enjoyed the sporting equipment available down by the stream. I loved that the host had excellent communication throughout the entire process. I was surprised that this property was right on top of other neighbors, as I figured it would be more secluded, but we enjoyed talking with them including the owner. It was fun to learn about the property's history. Although not a deal breaker, the stream did not look like it did in the original property photos. I had hoped that my husband and I could potentially fish on property, but the vegetation is very overgrown and the stream is hard to access where rental occupants were allowed without disobeying no trespassing signs. Luckily there are other options off property in somewhat close proximity. The stream was still pretty to look at enjoy. Overall it was a great property and we had a fabulous time. I highly recommend it to those visiting from out of state or those, like us, that wanted to get out of Denver for the weekend.

Thanks to Kathlene for the nice review. A couple of points of clarification from what she described. The creek that runs through the property is somewhat seasonal. Sping time is best for enjoying the creek as it gets roaring with the snowmelt higher up. There is no fishing in the creek at any time but there is river fishing available in the roaring fork about 5 minutes away. Regarding the neighbors and the entire property. My family and I own approximately 20 acres that include the hillside. On the property are other houses. The closes to Casa Del Sol is about 30 yards with the parking area shared. Most guests find it plenty private. However, it should not be considered as tucked away deep into the woods but itself. That type of rental is available in the area but will be a much longer drive from any town.

Growing up in Glenwood I knew what to expect of the area and was very pleased to find a rental up 4 mile. The property was super clean and had everything we needed, beds were comfortable and they were plenty of towels. If I were to give any advice about this property it would only be to bring a sleep mask if the light in the morning weeks you easily, there are so many windows to enjoy the beautiful views and we found ourselves getting up quite early.
