We rented this cabin for my granddaughter’s 16th birthday celebration with 3 of her friends. We were informed a few days before our arrival that the road off the highway to the cabin had not been plowed, and heavy snowfall from December was causing difficulty accessing it. I have a bad ankle so when he told us we’d have to park off the highway and walk in I was not exactly thrilled. With luggage and groceries it would have required several trips back and forth. But he messaged the day before saying the road had improved and we could drive in without chains. Unfortunately, It was still quite bad and scary even with my AWD SUV. We made it in but then had trouble getting inside with the door code which was very frustrating after the nerve racking drive. We heard some talking and realized that it was the owner speaking through a camera on a shed facing the doorway, trying to tell us where to find the key. Once inside we found a very cute and tidy cabin. The upstairs loft was perfect as the teen dwelling for the weekend. The Internet streaming to the TV’s worked great and they loved it. The beds were all comfortable, and one bathroom, (with no lock on the door?) was a bit dicey for 6 females. The kitchen was fine but had no dishwasher and we couldn’t find a drain board. Also could use some organization as things seemed to be shoved into drawers with no rhyme or reason which made finding utensils a challenge. More regular sized dinner plates would be helpful, along with some serving bowls and spoons. Bring any special seasonings you may need for recipes you want to make. Oddly, there was barely enough room in the fridge for the food we brought and we had only one shelf for all our stuff for 6 people. It was pretty cold while there in early February so we used the beautiful fireplace a lot which was very cozy. They had good instructions which we followed to a tee but had to leave the fan set at 5 instead of 3 otherwise smoke would fill up the cabin. That made the wood burn much faster and any heat went up the chimney. The floors were freezing, so we had to use higher heat which made it very hot upstairs. The outdoor bathtub wasn’t accessible due to very deep snow but did use the hot tub several times which was nice. We ended up having to walk in one night because it was too treacherous to try driving in at night. It took 25 minutes each way, 20 minute drive to Ski Bowl. Despite these issues, we all had a great time and really enjoyed the cabin.
