Clearly an older facility, but it has been repainted. The room itself was very clean with no odors. Bathroom was in great shape - no mold or ceiling issues due to moisture. Beds were firm, but had a bit of a pillowtop cushion. Each bed had 4 pillows / 2 different varieties. Bed and bath linens all looked new. The main hallway and stairs all have carpet which are dirty, but not a deal breaker. With all the heavy traffic in those areas maybe carpet isn't the best choice for floor covering.
Breakfast was your standard "free" hotel breakfast. Waffles, eggs, sausage, bread, English muffins, pre-packaged pastries, oatmeal, cereals, fresh fruit and beverages. Dining area was very clean with plenty of seating.
Location is great if you are looking to hop on an off I-131. It took us about 5 - 10 minutes to get downtown to Van Andel arena.
The address for this place is technically Grand Rapids, but if you are familiar with the area - it is literally a stones throw from Wyoming. I am not sure I would want to be walking around after dark. (Just my opinion.) The area is a little run down and could use some love! You will definitely hear noise from outside. The hotel is tucked in behind a party store and a restaurant.
If you're just looking for a place to crash overnight and you don't want to fork over the ungodly rates downtown, then this is a good option. All of the rooms are only accessable from interior hallways and there aresecurity measures for getting into the
