Excellent - as always. Becoming something of a ritual whenever I stay - dinner in the bistro and breakfast in the magnificent Breakfast Room. Good old-fashioned service, lovely comfortable room, and a building that oozes history. Worth visiting Grantham simply to stay here.

Lovely quaint hotel the 2nd oldest in Britain 1203 apparently, very busy and had a nice outside courtyard where there was live singing, we stayed as went to a Wedding near by but will definitely be going again, beds very comfortable and decent showers. Only downsides for us was that smoke form the courtyard wafted up into the room no fault of hotel but just an observation and Breakfast @£19 each was a little expensive we had breakfast a shot walk away which was half that and still great, plenty of choices in Grantham.

Very expensive for the type of hotel! We were disappointed no breakfast included in the price The toilet seat was peeling The taps had lost their labels ..disgusting ! In the night I walked by my bed to the the “step into the loo “ and nearly broke my toe scraped my my back on a badly placed wooden and brass door stop We will never visit this hotel again and would like a refund

Different room this time liked it more than the junior suite. Great rate, seems too cheap for the quality of the accommodation. Nice bathroom. It’s an old old old very old building so I understand that it’s difficult to maintain the sash windows, I hope that they can make some progress with this over the next year or so

Lovely stay at this hotel. Big room, comfy bed. Excellent value for the deal we got & it included the very convenient parking. We did not eat at the hotel as it was quite expensive. Breakfast was £19.95 each. There are several other places to eat within a very short walk, several old pubs well worth a visit and a Wetherspoons within a 10 minute walk.

We stayed just the one night and left early. Very hot and no aircon and a fan that struggled. If you are travelling with more than just an overnight bag… pre-request the ground floor to limit the number of stairs and narrow hallways you have to lug your luggage (no lift). Outside of this… it is an old hotel with history and if you are looking for something quaint and a little different, this might be just up your alley
