“The property is in a beautiful location with access to a beautiful beach. Gardens/pathways are well maintained.
The spa is excellent.
Small problem areas are - teapot in room still full of old tea/rust colored water in the kettle/wooden strip above the lounge curtain fell off/dinner was mediocre (risotto was terrible - stodgy lump)/back of house area behind our villa had garbage lying around.
Devil is in the details.

“Great staff, great property, truly refreshing. The property is underrated, from the rooms with outside showers, amenities and the game roaming around the property and lastly the trail within the property offers a great opportunity to walk or run for relaxation and reflection, we were pleasantly surprised by all of this.
The only bad thing we noticed was the odour in the room at times, it smelled like blocked drain or sewage.”

“Check in was nice and quick. The staff not so friendly but very professional. They could use some customer service training and smile a bit.
I had a really great room with the view of the pool and the ocean and the garden is beautifully maintained.
They skimp on amenities.. no lotion no shampoo/conditioner. I had to ask for more milk, coffee and sugar. They have a minibar in the room but no water in it (rolling my eyes)
Breakfast is not the nicest in terms of variety. They only have decaf of……

Will recommend and certainly stay here again.”

“This is a hotel we first went to 55 years ago. It remains rustic but is in very good order and gives you a wild coast experience without useless frills, preserving the very real touch with the South African beach experience outside the high rises and fancy hotels and eateries.
It is simple but very real and honestly stress free, staff is high service and amenable without being servile and plastic.
We recommend this to folks who want a magnificent beach, old world charm and style na d fully……
