Everything you need for a perfect seaside holiday with your dog.

Another return visit to the wonderful Jack's Shack and it didn't disappoint. Caroline has created a warm and welcoming gem in beautiful Winterton-on-Sea and has thought of everything you or your dog might need. This cosy, well-equipped cottage is in a great location, right on the dunes and with easy access to the beach, cafes, a shop and the best fish & chips in Norfolk! Thoroughly recommended.

This was one of the most relaxing , well thought out cottages I have ever stayed in. Not only did it have everything provided for us humans the dogs were well catered for too. You really only need bring yourselves and your dogs, everything is here for everyone from beds,bowls,crates,throws,towels for the dogs ,also treats and spare food if needed to a lovely welcome basket for humans, and the most comfortable cosy cottage. Everything is there ,spotlessly clean and comfortable , easy access to the dunes/ beach and sea with some beautiful walks, coffee shop, small shop and pub a few minutes walk too. Will 100% be booking again and would thoroughly recommend to everyone x

Beautiful Cottage

Fantastic little cottage situated right behind the sand dunes at Winterton on Sea in Norfolk right by the beach . Lovely and cosy with everything you could want and more. Hosts provided a brilliant welcome basket for both humans and our excited dog, Jasper. Great little dog friendly village with a smashing pub and cafe . Would highly recommend recommend to any dog owner who wants a relaxing break but has a dog who loves swimming and meet people. Thank you so much for our wonderful stay xxx

The perfect place to take a breath & chill

We have had a fantastic week staying at Jacks Shack which was in the perfect location for exploring the Norfolk coast. The cottage was clean, well presented & every comfort gad be thought of by the owner. This is the best holiday home we have stayed in.

Wonderful to be back at Jack's Shack

Another wonderful visit to Winterton-on-Sea and Jack's Shack. Caroline has provided everything you could need for a dog-friendly holiday by the sea and the welcome basket is the best we have received at any rental property. Jack's Shack is virtually on the dunes making it so easy for humans and dogs to go for lovely walks from the doorstep regardless of the tides. The Seal View is a perfect place to stop for a coffee and the fish & chips from the Winterton Fish Bar are the best around!

Outstanding location

Jacks Shack was wonderful! We had a fabulous long weekend. Caroline had thought of every home comfort for us and the dogs, I have not stayed anywhere before where the dogs have been so well catered for. The cottage is lovely, calm, quiet and in the most amazing location.. we loved having the dunes and beach outside of our back door. I am already searching for dates to come back!

Lovely cottage

We’ve had a lovely stay at Jack’s Shack. Caroline was fantastic, lots of communication and additional touches which made such a difference. We’ve never stayed in such a well equipped house, it had everything and more. Would definitely recommend and we will be back. Thank you, Caroline!

Amazing

What a brilliant place to stay. Everything down to the last tiny detail had been thought about and implemented. We took our 2 dogs and they absolutely loved it, there was just everything that you could think of for them to enjoy their stay. We were made to feel so welcome and the communication before hand was brilliant. We will definitely go back to Jack's Shack!! Thank you!!!

We have never been to a cottage so well equipped not only with utensils but food as well !! A perfect location for the beach, lots of dog friendly cafes and pubs nearby. Would definetley stay there again

Just Perfect

For me staying with my two dogs, Jacks Shack was the perfect location, and perfect accommodation. Out of the back door and straight onto the dunes where my boys could run, walk, sniff freely off lead. A few minutes (or more dependant on sniffing) and you are at the beach. Jacks Shack is a very comfortable cottage and well equipped with lots of cups, plates etc. dishwasher, washing machine (should you need??) Totally enclosed garden so completely safe for dogs. Winterton is a quietish lovely location with just one pub, which suited us. If you want rowdy late nights, this is not a place for you!!

Superb accommodation

Superb accommodation that is super dog friendly and the owners seem to have thought of everything. Immediate access to the sand dunes and down to the shore from the property, so the car stays firmly parked the whole stay. Everything you could wish for in a pet friendly accommodation. Fabulous!

Lovely well equipped house that is more than dog friendly on the sand dunes at Winterton on sea.

Nestled right near the beach, this charming dog-friendly cottage is a perfect getaway for pet lovers. The outdoor area offers plenty of room for you to enjoy the sun whilst your furry friends have access to the picturesque beach and sand dunes easily. Parking available in the garage. Inside, the cottage is cozy and well-appointed, with comfortable furnishings and all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay. Dog amenities go above and beyond what you usually expect in a self catering cottage. (We have found this to always be the case at ERC) Our pup loved the nearby dog-friendly cafe/ pub. If you’re looking for a relaxed escape where your dog is just as welcome as you are, this cottage is an absolute gem! Highly recommended for both two-legged and four-legged travelers alike.

Loved our stay by the dunes!

We stayed for four nights at a lovely little cottage (Jack’s Shack) which is right behind the dunes at Winterton on sea. Gorgeous beach, lovely little village, really cosy little cottage with literally everything you might ever need! I loved how incredibly hound-friendly this holiday was - the owner clearly really loves dogs and my dog felt so welcome! The communication before, during and after my stay (from the owner and from the East Ruston team),was exceptional, and I will definitely consider having a holiday stay with East Ruston cottages another time.

Wow what a find this lovely place was.

What a fabulous place to stay, from the location, to the facilities to everything thought of for the dogs, we really cannot fault Jack's Shack. The kitchen was so well equipped, the bed super comfy with quality bed linen and pillows and everywhere was spotless and furnished to a lovely standard which felt very homely. The log burner was easy to light with logs provided. We loved to be able to walk out the back directly onto the dunes but still so close to the fish shop, pub and tea room all literally a 2/3 mins walk. Everything has been thought of and we are very much looking forward to another visit next year.

Another great experience with East Ruston Cottages

An amazingly well equipped and comfortable cottage. A great location right on the sand dunes in Winterton on Sea. Open the back door and you can walk for miles with the dog running free. The owner has provided everything you could possibly need both for humans and dogs! She made contact before our stay which made arriving very smooth. A relaxing week from the start.

Fantastic dog friendly cottage in a very dog friendly village

We stayed for a long weekend with our dog and had a great time. Jack’s Shack is great for humans and dogs alike with lots of thoughtful touches including dog blankets, towels, beds, bowls, ‘holiday’ tags and a nice welcome pack for us. Very spacious bedroom, well appointed kitchen, good sized dining room and a lovely suntrap sunroom. One of the highlights is that the back garden is essentially the start of the dunes. Highly recommended.

A lovely little cottage on the dunes

We booked Jack's Shack as a 'last minute' break and we certainly weren't disappointed. It's a lovely little cottage only footsteps (literally) away from the dunes at Winterton, so a perfect location for both humans and dogs. The cottage it one of the best appointed and provisioned holiday cottages we've stayed in. The owners have thought of everything two-legged and four-legged guests could need including a lovely welcome basket of goodies. We would definitely recommend it and look forward to returning there one day.

Jacks shack

We stayed at jacks shack and was more than happy. We was welcomed with lots of treats, wine cheese crisps etc. There was also every toiletry you could need. The house was beautiful with a log burner which was lovely as we went in February so was used every night. There is a lovely dog friendly pub within walking distance and the most beautiful beach on the doorstep. I would definitely go again, thank you x

Beautiful place

What can I say about this place. It was absolutely perfect. The cottage was beautiful, very comfortable and had everything you could wish for. The added extras and the welcome packs were amazing. The location was wonderful, straight into the sand dunes and then onto beach in seconds. Cute village with all the amenities you could want. The owners really helpful and lovely. Wonderful to be back at Jack's Shack

Wonderful to be back at Jack's Shack! A lovely, cosy cottage in a great location (right on the dunes) with everything humans and dogs might need for short or long breaks in this beautiful part of the Norfolk coast. The welcome basket has some tasty treats to get the holiday off to a great start and there are plenty of dog beds, bowls, toys and treats to please four-legged guests too. It is undoubtedly the best provisioned holiday cottage we've stayed in. Winterton has a great Fish & Chip shop and Poppy's Tea Room and the Seal View Cafe (right on the dunes) are perfect stops for coffee and lunch. We hope to be back very soon.

Great weekend

Our first time at Jack’s Shack did not disappoint. It met all the gold standards that we have so far experienced when booking through East Ruston Cottages - very clean, very comfortable, welcoming, everything you need and more provided for both humans and dogs. Could easily have turned up with just a suitcase, ourselves and the dogs and nothing more. Excellent location for village amenities and beach walks. Is definitely on our return list. Blown away by the provision of so many doggy items that we never knew we needed!
