Top Gwent Hotel Reviews

Delta Hotels by Marriott St. Pierre Country Club
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed in a superior room with lake view and was amazed on how beautiful the room and view were. We were very fortunate to have a room with veranda where we sat and just enjoyed the peace of our surroundings and the stunning lake. Breakfast was very nice as always and plenty to choose from. We didn't use to pool or spa as we were happy enjoying the sunshine and our veranda. Close to Chepstow Town centre. Friendly staff and easy check in."

Bryn Meadows Golf, Hotel & Spa

"Great location. The room was a bit dated and could have used better cleaning. There was old food on the carpet when we checked in"

Coldra Court Hotel by Celtic Manor
6/10 Okay
"We stayed one night in the deluxe suite. The suite was lovely, very spacious but I noticed some things that let it down which I wouldn’t have expected from the Celtic Manor brand such as, stain on the sofa in the living room, marks on the paint work, two lamps were not working in the living room. The bed was nice but it wasn’t a super king, it was two beds together so there was an uncomfortable ridge down the middle. There was no complimentary water in the room, only chargeable! Also, no blinds in the suite which meant as the windows were floor length, anyone outside can see straight in! The facilities were ok, the gym had the heating on in 30 degree heat which was ridiculous! The pool was very small with dirty grouting and the windows looked as though they hadn’t been cleaned in ages! The breakfast selection was ok, but the sausages, bacon, potatoes were so dry I couldn’t eat them. Overall, I think the property is slightly tired and needs some tlc… and I must say, I was astounded that were were charged for parking when it was in their property… all in all 6/10."

Cwrt Bleddyn Hotel & Spa
8/10 Good
"The hotel is situated in beautiful surroundings and we were lucky to be given a stone cottage apartment with outside decking overlooking the pond and grounds. Beautiful! The staff were all very pleasant but overstretched and and quite stressed at times. Breakfast was good but didn't run smoothly. The restaurant food and service was very good. The pool and spa were really lovely and the gym looked amazing. Don't rely on trying to get a taxi anywhere. Our main reason for staying here was to visit family for a birthday party. The hotel rang for a taxi twice and nothing turned up. We waited for a full hour and ended up having to drive. Fortunately me managed to get a taxi back but it was expensive. Lovely place to stay in , would be even better if they weren't trying to run on minimal staff . We would stay again because of the location and facilities."

The Manor House At Celtic Manor
6/10 Okay
"The staff were excellent, very helpful. Food let the hotel down. Breakfast buffet ok… had dinner in one of the restaurants which was 5/10 . Hotel dated and a little tatty in places"

Celtic Manor Resort
6/10 Okay
"Stayed at the Celtic Manor Resort recently and came away feeling a little disappointed overall. The bed was genuinely excellent and most of the staff we dealt with were friendly and polite, but for a hotel marketed as five-star, parts of the experience didn’t really match the price point. On arrival, the concierge/car parking experience felt unnecessarily dismissive, which isn’t the welcome you expect when paying premium prices. The hotel itself also feels quite dated in areas. The room was comfortable, but surprisingly lacked basic touches you’d normally expect at this level — no bottled water, no minibar. After arriving late, we also found the night menu extremely limited, to the point we didn’t bother ordering food. The bar service was fine, but automatically adding a 10% discretionary service charge onto drinks left a slightly sour taste, especially when four pints came to around £36. Overall, not a terrible stay by any means, but it didn’t feel like a true five star experience for the money charged."

Two Rivers, Chepstow by Marston’s Inns
8/10 Good
"Plenty of free parking, easy check in/out. Rooms were spotless and had hairdryers. Shower was really good and powerful. Bed very comfortable. Could do with slow closer on door as when you close it bangs really loudly which would wake all other guests."

The Coach & Horses Hotel

"Hotel staff were amazing, didn't sleep very well as situated on a very busy road"

Mercure Newport Hotel
