Honeymoon suite was incredible, huge and beautiful, very large outdoor private terrace (though semi overlooked by next door). Great experience, though would have liked more time cruising (we had a 45 minute tender boat transfer) and as all these cruises, tried to pack too much activity into a short time and sadly even Lan Ha Bay was busy with lots of rubbish in the water. Food was good including lots of vegetarian options. Overall very good.

Great experience!
The Doris is AMAZING! We felt well taken care of, from pickup to dropoff. We actually wished we would have booked two nights instead of one. The food is very good and caters to Western tastes while also offering local options. The activities were engaging, the staff were pleasant and all spoke good English. The rooms (and especially bathroom!) are very well sized for a boat room, and very comfortable. The boat itself is well kept, and has amenities like a hot tub. Balconies on this boat are very private, you don't get somebody else just behind a thin wall. Our complaints were very minor, like spa treatments only being offered in room without linen/pillow replacements, or the front desk not being staffed in the early morning. Overall, we would be happy to undertake another journey with Doris Cruise and fully recommend them.

Had a wonderful experience with Doris cruise!! Cruise ship was clean and spacious. Food was great, had lots of meals for a one night cruise. The staff service was excellent especially Mia. There was a lot of things planned for guests if they wanted to go on excursions or activities as well! Highly recommend!

Staff were very friendly and organized. Activities were fun but wish there was something other than squid fishing at night as it was not in season and you were not going to catch anything. Food was good but not a lot of variety.

Lovely boat and lovely crew as well! There are some others like Elite which look a bit more modern but this has a nice colonial feel. Also, it’s not as big so make sure where your room is for the noise.

Cruise was ok though the choice of food poor considering we told them I don't like seafood. There was NO entertainment we could hear the other cruises with karaoke and we had nothing on the 2nd night the crew had packed up by 8pm and we asked them to put the chair covers back so we could sit up top which they did. We felt like we were keeping them from their own party which was in the tender boat. We found that at the end there was alot of confusion on paying the bill and we ended up having to pay 3 separate bills which is unacceptable. It should have been put into 1 bill as we are unsure if we got charged double with all the confusion. So if you like no entertainment I guess it's ok

Cockroach galore
This was meant to be the highlight of our 6 week Vietnam trip but it was really disappointing. It seemed Amazing first off, but soon we realised it definitely was not 5 stars. Our room had cockroaches in and we had to change rooms twice so that we could sleep without being covered in bugs. Due to having to move rooms twice, the second time at 2am, we missed the excursion on the last day which we really wanted to go on, but everything starts so early that you can’t really get good sleep and go out on the excursions. The food on the buffet on the first night wasn’t great. Also I wouldn’t bother booking the transfer back to Hanoi with Doris cruise- we got dropped off on a random busy road 1.5 hours away from our hotel instead of the Pan Pacific which we paid for! The crew were brilliant though. I would not choose this cruise again.

Great experience with really clean and brand new look vibe. We loved the overall stay and the fact that the cruise is taking car of everything from food to activities. Only improvement is to provide clean / filtered on regular basis pls.

There were more than 15 guests from India preferring Vegetarian meals but the Chef was able to handle, the fruits were in shortage, strictly not a good place for Indians, these people should understand the requirements of Indians and then appropriately handle it, will not recommend any Vegetarian Indian to book this Cruise, luckily we had our home made food

We booked an executive suite and got upgraded to a honeymoon suite. That was nice of them. However, for the price we paid the food was lacking as was the cruise itself. The ship just sailed to a certain point and anchored for the rest of the night and the following morning. We did not get to see much of Halong Bay as well as Lan Ha Bay. It seemed they paid more attention to the excursions such as kayaking. I wish that the cruise should provide more exploring of the bay

Great staff, food was good but the boat is very dated. Towels were a bit stained. Everything needs to be updated definitely. My room was at the bottom level at the rear of the boat and it was very noisy. Can’t really rate this as a 5 star at the condition it is in. We still had a good time. Thanks to the wonderful staff.

We purchased the transfers directly with the company. This was excellent. The cabin was lovely, with a large private bathroom and balcony. The ship is very spacious, and with low passenger numbers it was very quiet. The boat trip to the caves was the highlight. When reading about all the cruises in this area nearly all mentioned the meals being excellent with lobsters being the best. Unfortunately there were no lobsters on the menu for this cruise. The meals were ok, apart from the breakfast which was cold, so we didn't eat any of it. The 'Cruise' felt more like a floating hotel. We were transferred to the main ship by a smaller boat (30mins). The ship then moved to the night area, whilst we ate lunch. This is where it stayed until the next day when it travelled back to the original place and the smaller boat took us back to land. My expectations were a little higher than reality and the cost, which was disappointing.

I'm so glad that we spent 2 nights on Doris Cruise (1 night would feel rushed). The food was excellent and the staff worked hard to meet the various dietary needs of guests. Breakfast and dinner were served as a buffet and lunch was a set menu but both were great and there was plenty of food and many vegetarian options. The rooms and bathrooms were in great condition and we had everything we needed... comfortable bed, nice linens, lots of hot water, and a private balcony with the best view. The jacuzzi is lovely and a nice temperature, not too hot, so it was pleasant for kids and families to spend time. We went with our 7 month old baby and we decided not to do the day trip, but on the boat they made sure we had everything we needed. The staff were very kind and made sure that we had a wonderful trip. The only thing that could be better is the price of drinks. Sometimes there was juice served at the buffet but we had to pay for all other drinks, even water, and the bill adds up quickly for that over 3 days.

The cruise ship is luxurious - the rooms have big windows and the view is just wow. They try to accommodate your dietary preferences, the activities are pretty nice. My only critical feedback is that “limo” they put us in for transfer to Hanoi was not very comfortable ride.

Da evitare, cibo di scarsa qualita, bagni con porta sapone pericolosi in coccio, rotto uno me lo fanno pagare 4 volte il reale costo ed in piu mi prelevano dalla carta di credito piu del prezzo pattuito...scarsa professionalita...inoltre la barca non si è mossa dalla zona turistica piena di barche, poche attivita nelle zone piu belle si consiglia di sceglierne altre a prezzi piu umani visto il posto

Cher pour un bateau que nous n’avons jamais vu !
Nous aimerions bien aujourd’hui vous donner notre avis sur le Doris Cruise mais la compagnie nous a volontairement fait embarquer, sans notre accord préalable, sur un tout autre bateau. Lorsque nous avons vu que le bateau sur lequel leur Ferry nous faisait débarquer n’était pas le Doris, nous avons demandé des explications aux managers à bord mais ils se sont montrés tout du long absolument désagréables et même snob pour l’un, qui nous a dit tout sourire que de toute façon maintenant à bord nous ne pouvions plus repartir (!!?). Les tentatives d’explication étaient diverses (1. c’est notre nouveau bateau, il a juste un nom différent. 2. le Doris était complet ce soir. 3. nous vous avons surclassé dans un bateau mieux,…) et ceci a bien prouvé que nous étions finalement juste pris pour des vaches à lait. Nous retenons donc juste l’attitude irrespectueuse et impolie de cette entreprise qui n’offre pas à ses clients les services pour lesquels ils payent.

We had the triple room in the very front of the ship. You get less space because of additional bed and you get woken up early as soon as they lift the anchor at 5 45 am. The ship does not cruise between 5 pm and 6 am so if youre doing only 1 night you end up with 4 hours navigating over 24 hours. The bay is polluted and overcrowded by ships. We were happy we only stayed 1 night.

Die über das Unternehmen gebuchte Anfahrt von Ninh Binh war der Horror! Der uns von unserer Unterkunft abgeholte Van hielt an der Autobahn, wo wir - fünf Leute mit Koffern - in einen anderen, mit Vietnamesen, die keine Touristen waren und somit nicht auf der Doris Cruise eincheckten, vollbesetzten Van umsteigen mussten - ohne Informationen und Begründung. Während die Fahrgäste wechselten, nach mehreren Stopps, und einige von ihnen im Gang mit Hockern saßen, hatten wir kaum Platz für unsere Beine. Zwei von uns saßen vorn neben dem Fahrer, der uns fragte: Hotel? Ha Long? Sieht so eine Fahrt zu einem 5-Sterne-Schiff aus, bei dem wir schließlich ankamen? Das Schiff selber ist neu, doch weit entfernt von einem 5-Sterne-Service, allerdings zu einem 5-Sterne-Preis. Die Crew feierte lautstark bis morgens gegen 2 Uhr, während die Gäste aus aller Welt nicht schlafen konnten. Einige von ihnen wollten dennoch um 6 Uhr zum angebotenen Thai chi, doch der "Lehrmeister" war nicht zu sehen. Auf all diese Vorfälle angesprochen, gab sich der Conférencier unwissend. Eine Kajak-Fahrt im Nebel hätte beinahe in einem Desaster geendet. Zwei aus unserer Gruppe nahmen daran teil. Ohne einen begleitenden Guide hatten sie Mühe, den Weg zurück zum Schiff zu finden. Zu all dem kam hinzu, dass auch in der Lan-Ha-Bay am Abend über 30 große Schiffe ankern. Und das Wasser der Bucht, voll von Müll aus Styropor, Plastik, Holz, Ölresten, einer Kloake gleicht. Nie wieder werden wir dorthin reisen!

Mycket trevlig kryssning överlag. + personalen/servicen, maten var god alla måltider, rummen var fina, soldäck med bar och karaoke vilket var trevligt. Maten på utflykten var suverän, med flera olika rätter. - svindyrt för att vara Vietnam för dryck som tillkommer. Jmf 20-30k överallt mot 90k på båten för en öl, drink/vin 200k. Happy jour innebär köp 2 och få 3:e fri. Trodde vi skulle åka mer med kryssningen, men stod mest still och åkte med mindre båt överallt för utflykter. Mycket hårda sängar. Dåligt Wi-Fi, men det är både på gott och ont :) Överlag åker och har alla kryssningar denna rutt/utbud. Så behöver inte betala mer än denna båt, man fick ut det man önska vilket var vackra omgivningar och avkoppling.

Beau séjour a bord du Doris
Tres beau et bon moment passé a bord du Doris. Une équipe dynamique et disponible sur le bateau et des activites sympa organisées durant nos 2 jours. Les repas etait copieux et de bonne qualité. Un moyen très agréable de découvrir et d'apprécier la baie d'Halong.

Barco agradable con buena comida. Lo negativo es el precio desorbitado de las bebidas y la comida del día de la excursión a Cat ba que se hace en un barco amarrado al puerto en mesas de 4 personas donde meten a 6, es bastante incómodo sobretodo si te toca en el medio.
