"The parking situation is frustrating.
We stayed at the Riu Hotel in Toronto and used the nearby parking at 27 Widmer Street (P1), which turned out to be a frustrating experience.
The system was confusing from the start, and extending parking wasn’t straightforward. We followed the instructions provided by support, but still ended up being charged multiple times for sessions that didn’t work properly, including time that was unusable and a payment applied to the wrong zone.
After waking up early (5:45am) to try and resolve it without success and multiple parking billings that were unusable and duplicates, we ended up staying up, grabbing breakfast, and checking out by around 8am, much earlier than planned. Not exactly the kind of stay we were hoping for.
The entire experience ended up being soured by baby sitting a horrible parking system and dealing with parking issues, which took away from what should have been a pleasant overnight stay.
While the hotel itself was fine, the parking solution they direct guests to is unreliable and poorly set up. It really feels like this should be better integrated or managed, because right now it reflects poorly on the overall experience."
