Built by the fifth president of the Singer Sewing Machine company as a hunting lodge in the early 1900's. it has changed owners several times and is currently owned by a group of Europeans who preserve castles. It has a large suite on the third floor that is available to stay in overnight for a fee.
Singer Castle- 1000 Islands, NY. Also a must-see is Boldt Castle. Quite a romantic story too. #architecture #waterlust

The booking photos are deceiving. The place is much more run down. Maybe because its up for sale. There were 3 of us and only 2 blankets. There was no bedding for the pull out sofa. Which when we took the cushions off was full of crumbs and cheerios. Dust webs and cob webs and spiders were super ...
