The Property is Great - Vacasa is a terrible host

We checked into our house on a Monday. Upon arrival we immediately noticed that house cleaners had been to the house cleaning up after the previous guests, but it was not done well or completely. Here is what we found upon arrival: - Diarrhea in the master bathroom toilet - Used baby bottles on the floor - The beds were made, but the sheets had not been washed - In several of the bedrooms there was bedding thrown into the closets but not folded - Kitchen utensils, cutting boards, and pots and pans were put a way, but dirty. - Toiletries from the previous guests were left in the bathroom drawers and cabinets. - Many of the floors in the bedrooms had dirt/mud on them and were clearly not vacuumed properly. We contacted Vacasa immediately asking if they would send someone out to fix it, they told us they would check with the local staff and get back to us, and then never got back to us. They asked to send pictures which we did. At around 10:00 p.m. we realized nobody was going to come and fix the issue so we ended up cleaning what we could ourselves. We then contacted them the next day and got the exact same run around. During the week I sent a total of 8 texts to Vacasa and all 8 times they told me they were sorry for what happened, it was unacceptable and they’d check in with the local staff. Each of the 8 times I never got another response after being told they’d check with the local staff. The house is great though, Vacasa is the issue

The Cabin is Great, Vacasa is NOT!

Just like the title says, this cabin is beautiful and everything we were hoping for to spend a week on the lake with our family! However, we ran into several issues including only 2 of the 5 stovetop burners working properly, spider webs and bugs covering the front entry, prior to arrival we were told the paddle boards and kayaks were NOT included only to show up and find out that they actually ARE included, and there were 2 very large (the size of a football) yellow jacket nests hanging from under the bridge to the dock. None of these issues were deal breakers for us because I figured they could all be addressed by reaching out to Vacasa and they'd have a solution. Unfortunately, all I received was the generic "thank you for your comment, is there anything else I can assist you with" responses. I practically had to beg Vacasa to do something about these issues and ultimately, none of the issues were ever resolved during our stay. My oldest daughter's friend was stung 3 times from the swarm of yellow jackets and since we have a 1yr old, we weren't comfortable taking her to the dock because we didn't want to risk her being stung. We brought our boat so this made things much more complicated than they should have been in order for us to enjoy the water. Lastly, I see previous reviews addressing some of the same issues back in June (the stovetop) and it's incredibly frustrating that over 1 month later the issue has still not been fixed. So in conclusion if a management company who actually cared was taking care of this property, we'd love to stay here again. But since Vacasa has shown their lack of care, there's no way I could book this again and feel confident in Vacasa if something were to happen which is sad.

Beautiful but needs attention to detail

We stayed 7 nights and it was a beautiful property. We loved it had its own private dock and paddleboards to use (although 1 oar was missing so we used one from the kayaks) There are 2 areas which the owners could fix to make it the truly the BEST !!! Housekeeping- Upon arrival it looked clean. Meaning it was surfaced cleaned but not CLEAN. Examples- the clear light fixtures especially in the master and bathrooms were super dusty and covered with cobwebs. The ceiling fan in the master we didn't turn on because of the thick layer of caked on dust on the blades. We moved the coffee table in the living room to spread out on the floor for a movie and there was a bunch of popcorn and garbage underneath the table. On the oven only some of the burners worked. When we turned the stove on to cook fries for dinner it produced a really strong chemical smell and filled the kitchen with smoke when we opened the door. Since we didn't want to eat anything that smelled like chemicals we could not use the oven. Things we could not cook on the bbq went in the garbage. I would recommend investing in a fire extinguisher for the kitchen just in case. Vacasa- was good about sending the door code email before we got there but that was about it. The power went out one of the days we were there. My husband checked the breaker box and meter and determined that all the houses in that area were out of power. When I contacted Vacasa to let them know and ask if they could provide any info they did not respond via the text thread they told me to use if I needed anything. So I called got a answering service she said she would find out and call me back. No one ever called me. An hour later they responded to the text saying they would ask their local contact and get back to me. 2 hours later I contacted them again. NO response. I ended up walking to a neighbors house to ask them if they had any info. The next morning I texted them again NO response. In fact I did not hear from them again until they texted me on the SAME text to make sure I was out by 10 am. I loved that the internet service they had was very good! However, when the power went out so does the wifi and cell service is spotty. I realize Vascasa is not at fault for the power outage, its the mountains it will happen but the LACK of communication they could greatly improve on. Perhaps the owners could look into a generator for situations like that. Other than that my teens had a wonderful time paddleboarding and fishing off the dock. We did purchase a couple fishing poles and left them there for the next family to use ♥ We enjoyed all the baby geese coming through each morning and the bald eagle. We also like that it was tucked away in a private cove so most days the water wasn't choppy from the boats. If you do stay, go into Harrison and the taco truck there is sooo good! Also the local ice cream shop we enjoyed! Overall we had a great time but if those 2 areas were improved it would of been even better.

Peaceful, secluded retreat - BEST EVER!

From the moment we opened the door, this vacation house was breathtaking. Immaculately clean, and the views were stunning. We spent every morning and evening enjoying the large deck overlooking the lake. The propane fire pit and other amenities made our stay so enjoyable, especially the large dock and kayaks. It’s located towards the southern end of Coeur d’Alene Lake, so you’re away from all the crowds and tourists. Not much is nearby, so a 30 minute drive to CDA is pretty much a necessity anytime you’re going out to eat. Hwy 97 is a beautiful drive and if you take the scenic route along the lake towards CDA you’ll find a great little place called Hutton’s General Store. Heading south from the house you’ll eventually end up in the old historic town of Harrison where you can find a great dinner spot at One Shot Charlie’s. 1 hour to the Route of the Hiawatha 1 hour to Silverwood Theme Park 1 hour to Spokane International Airport If there were any improvements to be made, the list is small. It would be nice to have a couple of life vests while using the kayaks, and the swimming ladder on the dock is a little rickety, but that’s it. This place is quite literally the best vacation rental we have ever experienced. We will definitely be back.

Perfect Get Away

We gathered to celebrate a retirement and enjoy family. It was wonderful and relaxing with lots of space but still felt cozy.
