Lovely cosy cottage, only 20min walk from stunning coastal paths. Description of cottage was accurate. One room containing kitchen area with cooker, fridge etc. 2 comfortable armchairs next to solid fuel wood burner, which made the room warm and comfortable. (Follow directions for lighting this otherwise it can get a bit smokey!)
Double bed in other side of room was very comfortable with firm mattress and memory foam topping - which made it so comfortable and welcoming after walking for hours along the coastal paths.
Good shower/bathroom facilities, and everything was lovely and clean.
Small enclosed garden, which is a beautiful sun trap and secluded. Even has its own resident robin that flies down for crumbs every time he saw us sitting on the bench! Also had good off road parking facility.
The path from the cottage to the National Trust Coastal Paths took about 20min to get there. It is uphill, then level, then a fairly steep decent to the cliff, so a degree of fitness is required. You will be rewarded with the most spectacular views and the highlight of our holiday was seeing the seals with their new born pups, lying together in the sheltered bay just below the cliff. We were blessed with sunny weather all week and visited the seals every day. We even saw a pod of porpoises nearby whilst sitting on the rocks, and lots of bird life above the coastal paths, including peregrines, kestrels, buzzards and red kites.
We visited St. Davids, Ramsey Island boat trip, Woolen Mill and Studio Pottery - all very close to cottage. We cant recommend any pubs as we were happy to do our own self catering in the cottage, though we can recommend Sunday lunch at St Davids Cathedral refectory - good value for money.
We have had a lovely stay. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and have already done so with people we met whilst on our coastal walks. We hope to return one day.Thank you Stuart and Anne for a lovely holiday.
