Nice and quiet getaway. Perfect place if you want serenity. Love the cabin set up and the owner was very nice. A pool to relax in and a lake to take the kayaks out was great to enjoy the weekend.

This is a nice place to get away from it all. You can fish or kayak on the lake and swim in the pool. The owner has made some nice updates and is very responsive.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was perfect to spend quality time with the family. While it does have access to television, we found the board games, swimming, fishing, kayaking and rec room activities filled up all of our time, so no screen time was needed. The hosts were very responsive and really nice too.

We’ve been checking out different places in Florida for 5 years now and this is our favorite place so far. We like the quiet and nature of this place and still get the benefit of a heated, screened in pool. The new owners are doing a great job making improvements if needed and were very responsive to our questions and needs. We are already planning a return visit.

Though outdated everything you need is there. It is quiet and plenty to do. We especially enjoyed the scavenger hunt and of course the pool. It is bigger that it looks on the pictures. We had a great time and I plan on returning at the end of summer with my other grand boys. They will love the fishing and kayaks.

We met a friend and her family (4 adults/4 kids) for a football game. House was the perfect retreat...loved the pool and kayaks. Kitchen is small (and hot) but well equipped. Considering meeting back again for future games!

Everything was perfect!!!! There have been updates since the pics were posted online. The pool is amazing but nothing compares to that walk out to the beautiful dock. Best week ever and property owner thinks of everything!!!!

We met Kim the housekeeper when we got there. She was awesome and let us know about everything on the property. The house is dated on the inside but clean. From what I understood more work was going to be done to update it in the future. We enjoyed the pool and took the kayaks out for a trip around the lake. It was a nice getaway weekend

We had a great time. The cabin was very comfortable and cozy. Well furnished. The pool was great. Good location. Perfect for what we needed. Only 2 points of disappointment. The internet was slow. Not working in bad weather. Probably could not be helped. The upstairs beds need a better frame. The one they are on has a ridge down the middle. Not very comfortable One more suggestion a bigger umbrella would provide better shade poolside on sunny days.

Cabin By The Lake is a great little retreat away from the crowds. This is the place you want to go for a quiet, peaceful, secluded tranquil vacation in a charming, updated cabin. Owner Sharon and property manager Rob were always a text away if you needed anything. The pool was where we spent most of the time. Clean and warm the whole 2 weeks we were there. Then there's the 200 foot secluded boardwalk to the lake with a Gazebo and kayaks to use. I didn't catch any fish mainly because I don't know how to freshwater fish. I know salt water. Lol. If you're looking for a nice quiet Vaca and have family to visit if you want, it would be a perfect opportunity to use the cabin. And not to mention that they furnished a lot of towels , and in the kitchen there's everything you need... most of the spices, coffee, sugar, Etc. It's well stocked more than I've ever seen on another stay anywhere. Thanks again Sharon and Rob, we will be booking again for next summer. 😊

It needs some improvements I do not want to be so negative because I feel like it was not there fault. They had just signed off the Friday before we came to all fairness I feel the first owner was not honest about things. I felt like I was accommodated to the renter instead tge other way around. There were some untruths told but I feel it was from the owner before. They said they were sorry and would not be renting until things were fixed. And they were returning my money for renting that week. So instead of saying everything we faced there I will leave it at that.

Log cabin was comfortable and lived up to the description in the listing. But however brilliant were the sunsets on the lake and enjoyable were afternoon swims in the pool, they were overshadowed by the noisy neighborhood environment. While it's unlikely future tenants will have our experience its deserving of mention because others have brought it up in their reviews. The neighbor immediately next door spent one afternoon running and testing an airboat engine. Noise was so loud we had to wear earplugs INSIDE the cabin. The next day he brought in a large backhoe and for the next 2 days demolished a 2-story metal building. Then smashed the framing, siding, and contents and loaded them into dump trucks. Just when we thought it was getting quiet a group of young adults riding high-performance off-road ATV's began racing up and down the road in front of the cabin keeping us awake until 1 am on two consecutive nights.

We had a lovely stay at the lakefront log home for my son’s UF graduation. The log home was a terrific place to hang out, visit, and celebrate. We really enjoyed the pool, the lake & kayaks, and the game house with foosball and ping pong. We did some grilling and cooking in the ample kitchen. It was very comfortable for eight adults. Sharon was a wonderful hostess, even treating us to a bottle of champagne to celebrate the graduation. Overall much better than paying for several hotel rooms for the special event. It would be perfect for a UF football weekend. Thanks very much!

Kitchen is well equipped, beds are comfortable though twins need updating. Pool is great, hot tub under repair. Dock and kayaks great. Screened in porch. 5 adults for retreat - it was perfect. Some minor repairs needed, improved lighting would be helpful. Would return!

We took our family of 6 for a sucluded florida vacation. This house was amazing. The location is private and quiet. The house was beautiful. Plenty space for everyone. The walk to the dock is beautiful and the built in lighting is a huge plus for walking back after sunset. The lake is very calm and peaceful with plenty of fish. We even saw an alligator. The rec house was great for the children to play in. The pictures don't do this location justice. The furniture and layout has been updated giving it a more homey feel. The location is about 30-40 minutes from the major cities but has convient shops within 10 minutes. The pool is refreshing and you can watch the children from the kitchen as they splash around. Unfortunately the hot tub was broken but besides that everything was fabulous. I recommend this property to anyone looking for a private florida getaway. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin! We will definitely be booking this again in the future.
