About this property
1 Bed in Helston (oc-41377)
One of four tastefully converted holiday cottages, set amongst the magnificent grounds of a 23 acre country house estate with it's own lavender fields. Woodpeckers Cottage is within a short drive of spectacular beaches and coves and forms the perfect base from which to explore all the Lizard Peninsula has to offer. In this rural location the night skies are abundant with stars to see on a clear night and perfect for stargazers.
The immediate area is steeped in maritime and smuggling history and is renowned for having one of the best climates in England. Head towards the coast where the nearest beach is Poldhu Cove and it's lovely cafe. Visit traditional Cornish villages such as Mullion, Porthleven and Coverack, all just a short drive away. The South West Coast path can be joined direct from the property as it goes around the grounds and up the drive! Attractions in the area include The Minack Theatre, National Seal Sanctuary and the Tate Gallery at St Ives, to name just a few.
The accommodation is arranged on one floor, accessed by three steps. The generous double bedroom has a modern en-suite shower room and WC. The open plan lounge/kitchen/diner comes complete with Smart TV (and Sky), Ruark audio, a wireless point for Wi-FI and boasts views over the swimming pool area. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. There is a shared utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer in the courtyard.
Within this 23 acre estate is a shared heated outdoor swimming pool (open from May to the end of September, weather permitting). Guests can meet the resident horse and sheep as well the curious chickens. On this country estate there are picnic areas, walks and access to public footpaths where there is an array of wildlife to discover. Lavender fields line the driveway and the scent and sight is gorgeous from June to September.
