Outdoor activities are plentiful in the surrounding areas, such as canoeing, kayaking, climbing, fishing, golf, paint balling and go-carting. Hereford itself is host to many restaurants, theatre, multi-screen cinema, variety of shopping, racecourse and its cathedral with the Chained Library and Mappa Mundi Centre. The pretty market towns are well worth visiting, such as Ross-on-Wye, Hay-on-Wye which is renowned for its literacy festivals and known as the book capital of the world and Ludlow famous for its history and culinary delights. The Malvern Hills and Brecon Beacons National Park are popular and offer stunning scenery. There are many historical churches, castles and museums within the area.
