Escape to the heart of the Wye Valley and unwind in our beautiful shepherd's hut, perfectly designed for two. Nestled in the Wye Valley National Landscape and set by the River Wye, this cosy cabin offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by countryside and nature. Enjoy your morning coffee overlooking the view, and spend your days exploring the many scenic walking routes right on your doorstep. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, a walking break, or simply some quiet time in nature. 'Wye Retreat' offers 2 Huts and a Sauna. Shephard's Rest Hut offers a double bed in a self contained 'tiny house'. It has small electric oven, hob, fridge, wall heater and kettle along with a sink unit and hot and cold running water. Basic kitchen utensils are provided along with towels and tea, coffee and sugar. Outside there is a small balcony with 2 chairs and a collapsible table to sitting with a coffee or wine and enjoying the view. There is also a large picnic table and BBQ. A short distance from the Hut is a shower block and toilet with is shared with one other Hut on site. there is also a shared Sauna which has a woodburner for heating. You will be able to access the Hut at a time to suit you after 3pm, via a keysafe lock. we will let you know the code prior to arrival. There is a car park situated a short distance from the Hut and subject ground conditions and prior permission, you can drive your vehicle up to the Hut to unload, before returning the vehicle to the car park. There are miles of walks in the area and great pubs to eat. We supply some books and games in the Hut also. There is no Wifi on site but most phone networks have some 4G coverage. Guests have ample parking within a short walk from the Wye Retreat site. On site there are 2 Huts, a Showershack (with toilet) and a Sauna. The Showershack and Sauna is shared between the 2 Huts.
There are many footpaths in the area and guests have additional access, beyond the public footpath system, to some of the adjoining fields.
Guests have a small balcony on each Hut to sit and enjoy the views of the Wye Valley. Guests can access the Huts any time after 3pm using the 'keysafe' system. The keysafe lock is located near the front door of the Hut. We will provide a code, prior to arrival, to access this. The key should be replaced in the keysafe at checkout.
Guests should have everything they need for their stay and additional supplies of wood or charcoal can be obtained on site.
