Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The location was excellent—just a short walk to downtown Douglas—and the backyard pool area was private, spacious, and beautifully landscaped. That said, the home could benefit from a deeper clean (the shower drain was backed up, and there were cobwebs, dirty floors, and greasy mirrors) and some updates to the décor to make it feel a bit more comfortable and inviting. With a few improvements, this could easily be a great place to stay for your next trip to Douglas.

Home that accommodates everything you need for a summer getaway

Our family of nine, 6 adults and 3 young children, stayed at the Alex’s Pool House for 5 days over the 4th of July holiday. A perfect house that accommodated all our needs. The pool was fabulous for our 3 grandchildren, as well as, us 6 adults. The outdoor space was perfect as we relaxed and played by the pool and barbecued most of the days. The location was perfect, just as you enter Douglas, and a 5 minute drive into Saugatuck. We would definitely book the Alex’s Pool House next time we visit the Saugatuck/Douglas location.

Family get away

We had an amazing time! The house was gorgeous! The amenities at the house, especially the pool were great! The Location was perfect distance to everything! Our only complaint was that the mattresses on the beds were very uncomfortable!

Great stay

We really enjoyed our stay here. Great location!! Struggled with pool alarm on door keeping us awake the first night but the property managers fixed it the next day. The house was clean and well stocked with necessary appliances. Loved the pool and hot tub for some evening swims after day at the lake and in town. Would definitely stay here again!!!

The best spot in Douglas!

This is the second year my family has rented this house. Perfect for a group on a quiet street that has easy walking or biking riding to downtown Douglas. And, a very cute wine shop across the street. You can’t beat the location and pool on property!

Great getaway- Great Location

This property is wonderful! We had a great week! The pool, hot tub and screened in porch were great hangout spots for everyone in our group. The kitchen and living spaces were cozy and very clean. I would highly recommend this rental for anyone looking to get away in an awesome house close to two fun towns!

Excellent experience, would return!

We had a great experience at Alex's pool house. Spacious, clean, fabulous location and great fun with the pool and hot tub. The layout was neat and the bedrooms all have their own big bathrooms which is so helpful. It was comfortable and well stocked, the rental company/owner were responsive and helpful and we had no issues. Only minor items for recommendation would be additional seating at the indoor table and more outdoor lighting for the outdoor table but those are so minor (maybe it will help you as you're packing). Would absolutely stay again

Great pool

The pool was fabulous, and it was nice to have umbrellas and trees by the pool to find some shade. If you are staying, plan on bringing some extra towels for the bathrooms and kitchen (and pool). There is only one hand towel per bathroom, not per person, and there was no towel provided for the half bath sink. We did a lot of cooking, so I’m glad we brought our own kitchen towels and dishrags. Also, bring some folding chairs if you want to seat the whole family at the dining table. There are only 6 chairs, but we easily sat 8 with a few folding chairs that we brought. The closets are big, and it was nice to be able to unpack our things and hang up clothes.

Great Vacation!

Our family loved our weekend stay at Alex's Pool House! The pool was still open which our kids loved. House had plenty of space and more! Location was ideal - quick walk to downtown Douglas and a quick drive to Saugatuck.

Great family getaway!

Spacious bedrooms and living areas, all very clean. The outside, screened in porch and pool are are especially great with a large group, lots of space to spread out and the pool is fantastic. And highly recommend the Douglas area, the house is a 5 min or less walk to downtown while also being on a quiet street. Great weekend stay!

Great Repeat Visit

My family and I enjoyed our second stay at Alex's Pool House this past June. We had stayed initially last August and definitely knew it was a place we wanted to return to. The house is clean, spacious, in a great location, and the backyard cannot be beat. My family and I especially enjoyed time in the screened in porch and of course the swimming pool.

Clean house great location!

One of the cleanest houses I have ever stayed in as far as rental properties. The remodel is beautiful and the pool is wonderful! So close to Douglas and Saugatuck both walking distance. Over all great house.

Great house—great location

Had a wonderful three night stay with our children and grandchildren. Kids loved the pool, adults loved the hot tub! Easy walk to town of Douglas where we found a nice wine bar and a good coffee shop. Will definitely be back!

Great location & house, uncomfy beds

The house was better than the photos! Great outdoor space. Walking distance to downtown Douglas, great coffee shop nearby. 5 minute drive to Saugatuck. We brought a toddler and he enjoyed playing with the toys available at the house:). Only complaint is that the beds were very uncomfortable.
