Escape to Kestrel Cottage, one of five lovingly restored Grade II-listed stone cottages nestled in the tranquil hamlet of Holmbridge, just a short journey from Holmfirth town centre. Dating back to the 18th century, and officially designated Grade II, this romantic one-bedroom haven showcases original mullion windows, rich stonework, and exposed beams that celebrate its heritage while offering modern-day comforts.

Reached via a charming narrow lane that curves around a small lake, the cottage’s rural location adds to the sense of escape and seclusion, but with facilities within easy reach. Inside, the ground floor features an inviting open-plan living space and kitchen. Admire the mullioned windows framing far-reaching countryside views, alongside warm timber beams and tasteful, contemporary finishes.

Upstairs, the vaulted bedroom ceiling, accentuated by exposed beams, ushers in natural light through a bank of windows, perfect for lazy mornings or quiet evenings. En-suite facilities include a well-appointed bathroom with both a bath and a shower cubicle. Outside, unwind on the south-facing patio, complete with outdoor furniture ideal for breakfast in the sun or evening drinks while taking in the rolling views. Ample parking is provided.

Located approximately 1.5 miles from Holmfirth’s bustling centre, guests can explore the iconic Picturedrome, the Last of the Summer Wine heritage attractions, and scenic footpaths leading straight from the door, perfect for countryside strolls or walks to the nearby pub or vineyard restaurant. With the Peak District National Park just beyond the horizon, Kestrel Cottage promises a peaceful base for breaks with panoramic beauty.

We stayed here as we were going to the picture drome in holmfirth, what a beautiful little house with amazing views. The bed was so comfortable and a nice big bath. 10/10 we are already planning to come back next year sometime
