A majestic, sweeping view of the Columbia Gorge awaits visitors to this charming, updated Hood River farm house, which sits on 1.3 acres encircled by orchards. And an amazing view of Mt. Adams. One of the best in town. Inside, it features 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, French-door entry to the master bedroom, hardwood floors, and modern kitchen (with dishwasher) and baths. Decor is highlighted b/w photography and an eclectic array of art, even a vintage airplane prop! Entertainment revolves around a Roku-equipped, 56-inch flatscreen powered by high-speed WiFi. Bring your passwords and let the streaming begin. Since you'll be located in ''The Heights,'' the location offers visitors easy access to restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, and more. Plus, Indian Creek Trail is nearby, affording a scenic stroll downtown (and a challenging hike back up). And, of course, this being Hood River, wind-sports, fishing, waterfalls, kayaking, cycling are calling you, as well. A couple of things about the home, it doesn't have a garage to use but plenty of yard space and it doesn't have central AC but does have AC window units in 3 of the bedrooms, a ceiling fan in the other bedroom and fans to blow cool air.

Nice location and perfectly adequate home, but pretty bare bones in terms of creature comforts. Not ideal that the doors are all frosted glass for purpose of little kids sleeping. Porch was in rough shape, borderline dangerous with rusty screw heads sticking out.

Fantastic home with beautiful views and close to town

Our family stayed here to attend a wedding at Skamania (on the Washington side of the river, just 25 minutes away). We had a fantastic time! The house is close to downtown Hood River with easy access to grocery/dining/shopping. It's on a side road away from the other homes so it feels like you really have the space to yourself and we loved the secluded feel of it!The home had most everything we needed while were there to cook a few meals and great instructions for how to manage the house while we stayed. We only needed to contact our host once as we were leaving and she was responsive, pleasant, and helpful (no issues in checking out, we just wanted to double check garbage instructions for ourselves).Would highly recommend and would stay again!

Perfect Stay

My family lives pretty spread apart in the one and we like to try to meet in the middle somewhere for the holidays. This year we picked Hood River and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice. The house was great for all of us and the location was absolutely perfect! The backyard was also great for a big game of frisbee and for the dogs to run around. I would definitely stay here again!

Rural spot near town

The view of Mt. Adams was lovely and the surrounding orchards were quite nice. The house is one level with many bedrooms and easy to navigate. The mattresses are old and very uncomfortable. The blankets are paper thin and extra bedding was quite sparse which made for chilly nights. The internet is terrible and we were unable to work from home and make video calls. The bathrooms are functional and clean, but didn’t offer any basic items like shampoo, conditioner and soap. The check out chores were excessive for the price per night. You had to do laundry, dishes, trash, wipe down all surfaces, etc. Basically turnover the house the last morning which didn’t allow any time to enjoy your last morning there. Overall, the stay was okay.

Needs better cleaning

First, the positives: the house is in a great location, and very convenient to Hood River. The rooms were all as described. Now the bad. This was by FAR the worst-cleaned rental we've ever had. There was a moldy pancake in the oven, a 4-spider cobweb in primary bedroom, and someone's water bottle hiding among the old candy under the couch (which we saw while trying to find the remote that the staff left tucked between books in a different room). Maybe write up a checklist for your team? When we were trying to find the Roku remote, I texted and left voicemail for the host at 8pm, but got no response, either that evening or the next day. That is really not good enough. I eventually sent another message at 4pm the next day, and she told me I could use the Roku app, which was great (and then we finally found the remote). Again, I think a better checklist for cleaners would have helped: "make sure Roku remote is next to TV". Other minor issues: more games would be nice (the only adult game was Scrabble). The instructions about the trash bins were confusing (they aren't in the basement, and the colors didn't seem to match up).

Awesome, spacious, clean house

Our family shared this place with another family to get in some skiing and relaxing. Fantastic spot, beautiful property with orchard and mountain views. The place was bigger than expected, plenty big for two families to spread out and do different activities. Highly recommended.

A little odd

The house is very dark, lots of light switches that don’t work and very limited lighting. Do not run the washing machine until you’ve taken a shower, water will be ice cold or scalding hot intermittently. There is only one true normal shower, the tiny coffin shower is too small to shave your legs. You have to strip beds and bring laundry into a basement with no lighting (again with the light switches/lighting).

Beautiful property and comfortable home

The property was very nice having the view of the orchard and hills. It was also nice to have the basketball hoop for my kids. The beds were on the soft side so half of the group really liked it and the other half would prefer harder beds. I was a bit confused about the clean up. the dishwasher needs the faucet to run at times so we didn’t want to simply load and leave. The garbage can was also on a far corner of the property and I felt odd leaving the garbage in there in case critters came but we followed the directions and hoped for the best. Then my only heads up would be if you have older people staying and want them to have the master there is quite a large step leading up to it. It’s a very spacious master and great bathroom though! Bathrooms were great and fit the needs of the party! Good TV, nice ling dining room table too. Thanks for letting us stay!

Quick trip for PCT hiker

We came to Hood River to give our daughter a break from PCT hike. The location was great and the place was very clean. We had concerns around the lack of AC in living areas but the temps in the house were quite pleasant. Fans and bedroom AC was plenty. Great views of Mt Adam’s and the sunsets were stunning. The only thing I would suggest is to put a King size bed in the master bedroom. Great spot. Highly recommend. Cheers!

we’ve stayed in many spots around hood river, this one takes the cake. couldn’t ask for more. even when we needed to adjust our dates after booking, the property manager was immediately responsive and communicative.

Great location, house could use some love

The location was great and had lovely views. The window air conditioners were loud and the cooling of this older farmhouse was a bit wonky (having to use box fans and open/close windows, etc). The yard was super dry and would not be usable for children. Deck was creaky and needed some maintenance. We felt was a bit overpriced for the quality, but overall a nice place.
