Felt like coming home

This was our second time staying at the moon house, and it was as cozy and clean as ever. Because of our familiarity with the house, it was like coming home. A great place for us to stay when visiting our family in Hotchkiss!

We were impressed by the cleanliness, the layout of the house, and the well-equipped kitchen. We also appreciated the host coming over within a few minutes of calling to help with the outdoor gas fireplace.

Plenty of room for our group. All the necessities were there. Absolutely spotless! Obviously an older home, renovated and well maintained. Convenient to Crawford, and the north Rim.

Love the Moon House

This is a great place to stay! Quiet area, but close to the wineries & restaurants. The house has a considered touch - if we wanted to cook, the kitchen is well stocked, the bathrooms supplied with oft forgotten incidentals. The lavender epsom salts were a perfect addition to a much needed soak in the tub at the end of a long hot day! The beds were comfy with soft sheets. 10/10 would stay again!

Family Reunion

Quick get together with the daughter we don’t get to see that much. Had a great time at the Big D concert Friday night. The north rim of the canyon did not disappoint. The Moon house was great - Comfortable, well stocked, and way nicer than advertised.

Wonderful hosts

Great spot for adventuring in Hotchkiss and Paonia. Only downside was that you need to drive to get to a walking/hiking trails. Nice having a fenced in yard for the dogs to run around in.

Relaxing stay

Tom and I truly enjoyed staying at the Moon Cottage. It was quiet, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We wanted a quiet place to spend time out of the car on our summer road trip and this was perfect. We relaxed during the day, doing a few hikes, and then would go to a winery for dinner and a glass of wine. It was very relaxing for us and our dog,Harley, loved the large yard.

Delightful!

We so enjoyed staying at the "Moon House!" As the name suggests, there were little "moon" touches throughout the house from pictures, to a puzzle of the moon and a "Shoot the Moon" game. And, if you wanted to, you could view the real moon through the house telescope. What fun! The hosts, Chadwell and Carissa, were responsive and timely and clear in their communications. They made us feel so welcome without being intrusive and their dog, Charlie, welcomed us and checked on us daily. We hated to leave to come home. If you are looking for a comfortable, quiet place to stay for a few days, look no further. We would definitely stay again!

A House in the Country

This is a gorgeous location, quiet but only a mile or so from Hotchkiss and 20 minutes from Paonia. It's a big home, plenty of room and everything you need. I did not hear any highway noise, just the sprinklers hitting the siding one morning. Well stocked with condiments. We went to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP and it was only 30 minutes to the north rim. Don't miss it. And such few people, at least on a Tuesday. Great hike on the rim. The telescope for the moon was so cool. The owners told me about the Farmers Market on Tuesday night in Paonia and that was fun and delicious to take part in. Convenient grocery stores in Hotchkiss and good places to eat. I wish the bedroom had some black out curtains but the home was everything you'd need.
