Entry level offers full kitchen, dining area, living room, as well as 1 bedroom (queen bed - new Fall of 2023 + TV) and full bathroom.
Upper level has a loft section and a separate master bedroom (fully enclosed) with king bed, TV and full bathroom.
Nearly flat lot with spacious screened porch and nice dock. Covered boat slip (no hoist) and lights. Kayak available for use!
Concrete walkway from driveway to front porch!

A Towel Roll for Each Person (based on maximum occupancy). Each Towel Roll Includes 2 Bath Towels, 1 Hand Towel, 1 Wash Cloth, 1 Cosmetic Towel.
1 Bath Mat per Bathroom.
1 Kitchen Starter Pack - Dawn Dish Detergent, Sponge & Kitchen Towel

PLEASE NOTE:
If you are placing your reservation thru VRBO or one of the Expedia channels and your anticipated visit is more than 90 days away, you will see 2 separate charges within 72 hours of placing your booking. The first charge will be the VRBO Service Fee* and the second charge will be $200 which is collected by Lake Retreat Rental Properties, LLC. From that point on, additional payments will be made directed to Lake Retreat Rental Properties, LLC.

CANCELLATION POLICY: If a reservation is cancelled with at least 90 days prior notice, 1/2 of the pre-paid rental payment will be refundable. If a reservation is cancelled within 90 days of your arrival date, no refunds will be issued. Notice of cancellation must be in writing, email is acceptable. Be sure to reference the rented property name and dates you had intended to visit.

Home away from home

The house was perfect for my little family. While too cold to swim in the lake in may we still had a great time watching tv and playing the games they had. If you do book and have littles under 4 definitely prepare for them. If you have infants bring a gate for the stairs other than that we enjoyed it so much. Beds were comfy plenty of dishes and such. Loved communication with owners as we had trouble with the grill and they helped right away. It was quiet neighbors were respectful. Growing up at the lake made it familiar to me and it’s so beautiful here.

Quaint SML property with lake access

We stayed at SML Getaway during Hurricane Ian's arrival to the east coast and arrived at the property to find out it was without power. Called the after hours rental property number and they quickly answered and informed us most of the SML area was out of power. They told us to use the candles that were in the rental home (there was plenty thanks to Megan's Bridal Shower!) and a flashlight in the drawer but the batteries soon died (please replace batteries and supply back up batteries). We had no success lighting the gas stove based on the instructions, but luckily it wasn't freezing and the power came back on 8 am the next morning. Other than that, the house was comfortable and stocked for our short stay.

Small and secluded

Older home with small rooms. Bathrooms tiny. Kitchen adequate but poorly outfitted. China, cutlery, and pots could have come from a yard sale.

A Nice Little Getaway

This was such a neat place! Fantastic little spot for a family get away. Communication with owners was prompt and the rental agency was quick and pleasant to respond/deal with. Would book again!

Better than expected

House is much nicer than the pictures. It is clean in a nice isolated neighborhood. The dock and lake was perfect for the boat. Lots of sunny at the dock for the little ones. There are plenty of bass also. Great little place

Excellent Location

The location of this property is excellent. The cove is very quiet and the dock is nice. The house is reasonably decent for the price. It would be nicer if the kitchen was updated a bit. Most of the pots/pans, utensils, etc. are old and worn out. The range is old and the burners don't really sit level. Overall though, this is a nice spot for enjoying Smith Mountain Lake.

Quiet Retreat

The booking arrangements were easy. We were able to contact the owners quickly. The rental office was very helpful. Just wish the closed-in porch on the dock was cleaned off. All told, it was very enjoyable. Every comfort available. Nice quiet area.

Awesome Lake House

The house, location, and lake are all 5 star. BUT, there are a lot of upkeep issues and vacation amenities that need attention. No outdoor lawn furniture, no hoses on dock, no fan (as shown) in screen house, hammock is unusable, cable not working, upstairs TV not operational. There are burned out lights, no cushions for metal outdoor chairs, and an ant infestation. Truly a shame because the house & lake are great. When I called the agent about the issues she suggested that I go to the store and buy some chairs to sit on the lawn/dock! Come prepared to get full enjoyment on your vacation.

Fun stay

Overall we had a good time. When we arrived all you could smell at the door were cats and the trash left behind by someone else in the bins out front. The place was difficult to get into because we had the wrong entry code. It was not as clean as we would have desired and expected (carpets, bathrooms, dishes, flatware etc). There was no propane for the fireplace or grill available although we asked to use these ahead of time. When I texted the prop. manager about it, she didnt return my text. The only way to get TV upstairs on the 8" TV was through an antenna propped in the window which kept going off. No antena at all in the L.R. There were some videos in the L.R. but many were empty and missing from the case. Overall the place was adequate for our stay, but lacked many of the things that would have made it more comfortable and enjoyable to be sure!

A great place for people who like to fish

The property has great access to the lake if you are trailing a small boat. The marina, nearby, has a boat ramp that is a short trip by boat to the house. The gas grill on the back deck doesn’t have legs and the body is sitting on plywood, which has almost burnt through. I suspect it is a fire hazard.

Christmas at the Lake

Great piece of property situated on a quite cove, house is very well appointed for the location and its intent, absolutely no problems, except the television “cable” didn’t work, but I didn’t come there watch tv anyway so it didn’t bother us at all.

Thanksgiving 2019

I was very pleased with the house and location. It was so nice to have my morning coffee while sitting in the porch swing near the water! My family enjoyed the great room and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was equipped nicely and the only suggestion I would make is to update the range. I was disappointed that the gas log fireplace didn't work, even though the description of the property said the hoyse had a fireplace. It was quite chilly and the fire would have been nice. Also, there was a cable box but apparently no cable. Despite these minor issues, I loved staying here and will book the house again! Thank you for a memorable stay!

A Fall get away

The house was clean and very nice. Everything was as stated in the listing. It was nice to sit out on the dock and enjoy the peacefulness of the Lake and watch the deers play around on the property. This was a great get away for our family.

Nice Place Quiet cove

Place was nice. A bit skimpy on utensils and plates if there were more than 2 people staying. Nice dock and screened in area. I thought the miscellaneous fees were a bit much, especially if you were only going for a couple of days as we were.

Cozy cottage in quaint neighborhood

Check in was a breeze. House was clean and setup perfectly for two couples or a family. We brought our boat and the dock was easily accessible. Nice, open kitchen and living room area that overlooks the lake. The bathroom on the main floor is pretty tight and there is no where to set your toiletries to get ready—- not a big deal though. Overall it was a great place to rest!

Peaceful Easy Feeling

A delightful home set in a quiet cove, this property was the perfect spot for hours of relaxing by the lake...on the deck, in the hammock, in the screen house, on the swing, on the dock or floating in our rafts! Come equipped with your own water toys...the outdoor space is lovely and the cove is beautiful, but there are no water toys on site (as per description). Mitchell’s Marina is a great place to grab a bite to eat and to rent a boat. The house itself is very comfortable...with a cute lakeside decor!

Our stay in this house was everything we hoped for. It could not have been cleaner and the king size bed was as comfortable as our own. It was a peaceful and relaxing for my husband and I. when we come back to SML we will definitely stay here again!
