In need of tender loving care

Weathered run down beach shack is not as romantic as it sounds. Location has to be the most positive thing for this accommodation, just a stones throw from the beautiful Hyams beach, unfortunately this may be the only reason this accommodation books out. We were surprised it was still available when we booked 3weeks before the busiest weekend, we now know why, a bit of money spent up grading and fixing up the place would do wonders, but alas I guess why spend money if people are still willing to book. Chipped walls, broken door handles, old furniture, TV that didn’t work and they couldn’t fix it, we had to pay $35 for an app to stream from our phone. It wouldn’t hurt to put a mirror or two up, I’m not that vain but I do like to see what look like when I’m walking out the door, maybe they are targeting vampires, don’t know, stick on ones don’t even cost that much, no where to hang your clothes, I could go on but I won’t. A bit of advice book ahead and you find much nicer places for the same price, on a positive note they did try very hard to get the TV working and an alternative was provided ie Apple TV remote but we wanted to watch the tennis finals and that didn’t help us, sorry it’s a bit harsh but people need to know what they are booking

A fabulous location

This is a perfectly adequate property for a beach getaway. However the pictures do not tell you how step/dangerous the stairs are leading to the loft bedrooms they are more ladder than stairs, most of my weekend was spent on high alert wondering if one of the children would fall down then. Anyone with children under 12 or over 55 should probably look into other property.

winter get away

The house is in a great location. It is a little run down in places. The door handle to deck, the BBQ and front door could all do with a revamp. The lock on the front door was super annoying having to lock door with key could potentially be a health hazard should you need to leave in a hurry during the night or in a fire.

Enjoyable stay for couple

Enjoyed our stay very much but relieved had not invited anyone else to stay. The 2 very attractive loft bedrooms had no wardrobe or drawers and the access is via steep steps with no guard rails or anything to hang on to except for a single rail located about 25 cm above the actual tread requiring going down backwards to hold on - no good for any age group really and especially during the night!
