"The hotel was a nice and unique way to spend a night. We had spent the afternoon in Joshua Tree and found the clean room and pool to be the perfect way to recover from a fun day. The A/C kept the room cool so we could get a good rest. We will stay again when we visit the area again."

"Clean room. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Amenities as good as described. Close to restaurants and necessary needs. Parking close to the room. Because of the setting, one floor level, watch out for bugs. I didn't like that. Overall, it served its purpose for the one night stay."

"Everything about our bungalow was exceptional. Clean, comfortable, very nice furniture, well appointed kitchen and stocked pantry. The views were nice from our room, and on the grounds there were seating and viewing areas to catch the sites. The only helpful criticism I have is the lack of response to messages. They said that they are now using the app Guesty to register their guests, and it is new to them. The link that was provided to us via the Expedia app messages did not work for the Guesty app. Homestead said you will get your door code to your room only if you complete the identification process thru Guesty. I messaged a request for help. No answer, no response. Tried again next morning, still not working. We are supposed to check in the afternoon. Apparently I am on my own here. I decided to try the link on my laptop instead of the phone app. Now it finally went through! I could now put in my driver license info and take the required selfie. We now met the requirements to get our door code. One week later still no response to my request for help with their new Guesty app. The only communication I received after our stay was to please do a review. Someone needs to monitor the messages, and be alert when you put in a new app, Guesty, in case there are some hitches in the process."

"The room layout was excellent. The room itself was clean and comfortable. We did have issues with the bathroom not working correctly, the ice machine in the building we were in was disconnected and the elevator was down causing us to have to cart 5peoples bags down the stairs. I don’t think we will stay there again"

Onsen Hotel & Spa

"I booked two rooms for my family at Onsen last weekend, choosing it over other mineral spring options because it included breakfast. **The Good:** The mineral pool and jacuzzi were nice and warm, and the property is pet-friendly. Check-in was smooth thanks to Andy, who was very helpful. While the building is older, it’s nicely renovated and well-maintained. **The Bad:** The AC in one room was weak, so check yours if you are sensitive to temperature. Also, the surrounding area felt a bit sketchy, though it's fine if you have a car and stay on-site. **The Disappointments:** Breakfast was a major letdown. The breakfast hours are already late (8:30-10:00 AM), but no food or staff arrived until 9:00 AM. The hotel was completely unstaffed overnight and in the morning. Andy, who worked the night shift, actually had to come back in to help make basic toast and coffee. To top it off, the phone number on the front door was out of service. When we finally reached the manager, she promised to "take care of us" and took my contact info, but I still haven't heard back. Great pools, but terrible management and communication."
