Perfect Large Family Vacation!

Excellent property in great shape, comfortable inside and out, excellent location and wonderful host! Adequate and comfortable furniture throughout! Great kitchen accessories, pool toys and deck furniture! All 15 people agreed that the stay was thoroughly enjoyed by each and every one!

Great Family Vacation Home

The property was exactly as advertised... Whenever I go on vacation and rent from a website I always am concerned that it won't be what it is advertised as. The description and pictures of this property are extremely accurate. Everyone had an awesome time! There was plenty of room. Kitchen is well stocked, the pool has lots of toys. I highly recommend this home for an extended family vacation

Great vacation home!

Very short walk to the beach, beds were all comfortable, kitchen was fully stocked, pool was great. Walking distance to pier, restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay here again!

Great family beach retreat

Our family of 19 people (2 seniors, 9 adults, 8 kids ages 1-14) stayed for the perfect summer beach week. Ted the owner was very responsive to any concerns, location was close to the beach, beds very comfortable, room for everyone.

Family Vacation 2024

Everything was exactly as described. Nicely appointed throughout the whole house. Showers were great! Multiple covered decks were great to watch the ocean and the rain storms. We hope to go back summer 2025.

Great location and hosts

Our stay was great. Optimal for multi family stay. House was beautiful, location was amazing with ocean views from multiple levels of the house. Very short walk to the beach. Hosts were very receptive even dropping off a new coffee maker next day when the old one died.

Perfect for large family!

This is the second year in a row we have stayed here and we have already booked for next year! If you need anything during your stay, Ted is ready to help! The location is so perfect - walkable to the pier and restaurants - easy beach access across the street- and the pool is great for those who don't want to deal with the sand. The kitchen porch is covered so a perfect place to have your morning coffee and look at the ocean. Thank you, Ted!

awesome house for a family getway

This is a great house close to the beach and action of Surf City. The bedding is great and the house was clean and well kept. Easy access to the beach. It was also nice to have a couple computer monitor at desks to get some work down while on vacation. The KID LOVED the pool and hot tub in the backyard.

Beautiful home in a great location

Super nice home with plenty of space for our large family reunion group to spread out while still getting together for meals and socializing. Backyard with pool, plenty of seating and grills is your mini-resort! Beach access right across the street and restaurants and shops within walking distance. Spacious elevator from ground to the third floor - a necessity for mobility challenged guests and big help during arrival and departure. Host was easy to communicate with by text and very responsive and helpful. Highly recommended!

Amazing Stay at Southern Comfort

We just returned from a week's stay at Southern Comfort in Surf City, and all we can say is WOW! Ted Waltz (the host) was friendly, informative and accommodating; he was prompt in answering all of our questions, and made himself available if we had any issues during our stay. The house was absolutely beautiful, and almost everything from grocery store, to restaurants, to ice cream/coffee shops, and to beach shops was within walking distance from the house. The water views from front and back of the house were gorgeous as well! Thank you Ted -- we would highly recommend your house and your hospitality!

Family vacation

This was the first time tacking the whole family, kids and grandkids on a family vacation together, everyone had a great experience, for some members of the family it was there first time to the ocean, we watched sunrises and sunsets, we watched dolphins every day we were there, everything was in walking distance, so we never got back in our vehicles until it was time to leave. overall, the best vacation experience we could have asked for, as a matter of fact my husband and i asked to stay an extra night to enjoy the sunset and sunrise on the deck again. The pool and hot tub area was wonderful and cleaned there was even a pool cleaner there about every morning to make sure everything was still in good clean shape.

Family vacation was great! There were a few issues one being not as clean as we expected. The pool was unusable for the entire week which was very disappointing. Location is great and had the right amount of beds for our family. Overall, a good experience!

Great big house

Already booked again next year so that probably is all I need to say :) Plenty of room, easy access to beach, short walk to Surf City, well stocked kitchen, lots and lots of chairs on the decks, extra fridge downstairs which is HUGE, plenty of room for a family with kids of all ages - including items for babies and toddlers (gates, high chairs, pack and plays.....). Best part is that Ted the owner is so easy to get in touch with just in case you need something during your stay. THANK YOU!!

This is a large, well appointed home just a few steps from the beach. It served our large extended family very comfortably. The owners have thought of everything including high chairs, strollers and lots of pool toys. It’s great to have the pool when the beach gets too hot. We greatly appreciated the number of bathrooms, outdoor shower, and ample bedrooms. Kitchen has every thing you need— plenty of dinnerware, silverware, cookware. We enjoyed the house very much.
