We had a family of 31 stay at the property. Everyone had their own bed with plenty of room to spare, the location is amazing in the middle of the island and the Beaches on both sides are breathtaking. Matt was amazing to work with throughout booking our stay on the island and gave wonderful advice on things to do for the family.

Perfect Stay!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We brought a team of youth and adults down to the island to do some mission work. The accommodations were great for our large group - the main lodge provided enough room for our large group time and meals. Matt, Brett, and the entire team were super responsive. We would definitely stay here again!

Trip of a Lifetime

We rented the whole property for 30. It was fabulous! Each condo was decorated beautifully. We as the parents lived in the Main House where our family met every evening for cocktails, dinner or late night. The outside deck was gorgeous overlooking the Caribbean and you couldn’t beat the sunsets! We hired Brenda and Patrick to cook a couple of nights. They are a must! So warm and welcoming! Loved Buttonwood!

Wonderful time at Buttonwood!

Good for Group

We booked this property because we wanted each family to have privacy. It was a perfect location for a large group. We rented all 8 condos and the main house. We booked Kaynell as a chef for the stay. Kaynell and her sister Pebbles prepared 3 meals a day for the group. Having a chef is a must. With a group of 17 the logistics of eating out would have been a nightmare. We ate out 1 day for lunch and it took us 2 hours. There are not a lot of options near the complex to eat. So if you are a group book a chef. We also booked a bartender for 5 nights. Joanne and Kelly who own "Cocojo Bahamas" are awesome. They come to the main house and set everything up. It was such a treat. Highly recommend them for your gathering. Access to the beaches is not as convienet as I would have liked but the purpose of the trip was to be together as a family. The location is more isolated than I prefer. It is a drive to get to activities. The island is much larger then you realize. Our group did do a day trip to Governors Harbour. It has a great Caribbean town vibe. So make a trip there for sure and spend the day. Over all the group had a good time. The privacy and accommodations for each family out weighed any issue we may have had. Matt who monitors the property for VRBO was fabulous. Very communicative and had great advice on any question I asked.

Great Place for a Group!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented out the entire Buttonwood Reserve and it was a wonderful place for our group of 36 to vacation! Centrally located in the middle of Eleuthera, we could get anywhere we wanted to go in within an hour or less. We rented cars at the airport to make it easy to get around. We also hired a wonderful chef for the week for our dinners and it was great to all eat together in the main lodge and to see the beautiful sunsets each night! The main lodge gave us a central spot to gather and play games together when we weren't in our individual condos. The pool was a really nice place to hang out and was very clean. It is quite shallow in the shallow end, which was perfect for our toddlers! All the condominiums were very attractively decorated, comfortable and clean with beautiful views!! The beds were very comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful! We went to nearby James Cistern for groceries, the bakery, bottled water, etc. We also went there for Delish Lifestyles and LeoRose beach bars in the afternoons a few times. That was lots of fun! Governors Harbour was a reasonable drive and we went there for Tippy's Beach Bar, the ice cream shop and for a very nice lunch at the French Leave Resort. We also spent a great day at French Leave Beach. We visited several of the other nice beaches in the area and took a FABULOUS excursion with Captain Kid and Sons out of Gene's Bay Ferry Dock. So many fun things to do that we couldn't do it all. As always, we had a few challenges but they worked out fine and overall it was a GREAT trip!

We look forward to coming back to visit again. The location on the island is perfect for visiting both the north and south of the island but we quickly learned there was hardly any reason to go far from the property as there were excellent beaches close by and some excellent fresh food options just down the road at delish!

Amazing Property with Stunning Views

The property is absolutely amazing. There is plenty of space to either gather in large groups or easily find quiet nooks on both the Caribbean or Atlantic side of the island. I would highly recommend Buttonwood Reserve to everyone!

Beautiful property with an amazing staff

Our purpose was to have a surprise 70th Birthday party/family reunion, which included 42 people. We rented out all 8 units and it was so comfy! Each unit is equipped with two bedrooms, two baths, washer/dryer, kitchen/diningroom, and living room area, and a lanai that overlooks the ocean! Each unit also has it's own golf cart. The units are high quality! The staff was so personable that I feel like we left family behind when we had to return home. A magazine worthy beach, called Cocodimama, is right down the road, which we took advantage of. We hired a cook, Andrew and Felicity, which I would highly recommend. The grounds are well kept and the keepers are stellar. Sonya, the property manager, was incredible and I hope we can return soon!

Amazing property!

This property was exactly what we needed for our large group of 30, multiple families getting together from 2 states to enjoy Spring Break in the Bahamas. Each condo was well maintained, well appointed with what families needed and had amazing views. Everyone loved the golf carts, amazing sandy private Atlantic beach with great waves, Caribbean beach for snorkeling and kayaking and heated pool. Property is in a great central location on Eleuthera, people made it from Light House Beach in the South to Harbour Island and Spanish Wells in the North and everything in between on our days there. Very close to grocery store in James Cistern. Sonya the property manager and her staff were welcoming and accommodating. If you are thinking about a trip to a family island in the Bahamas, where you can spend days being the only people an beach after beautiful beach this is the place for you!

Perfect multi-family vacation spot

We had 31 people (12 adults and 19 kids ages 8-17) that comfortably fit in the Buttonwood Reserve. We enjoyed the easy access to both the Atlantic and Caribbean. Our kids especially enjoyed the Atlantic Ocean and the soft beach.

Fabulous place for a family gathering!

My family of 22 people rented 5 units at Buttonwood Reserve for a week. We loved it. It was clean, comfortable and very well maintained. Patrick and Brenda, the grounds keepers, were around every morning. They are some of the nicest people I have ever met and had wonderful advice about the island to offer. Matthew the property manager was always easy to contact and had answers to any questions we had. This is a beautiful resort. We basically had the property to ourselves. Our family ranges in age from 2 years old to 66. We were able to cook most of our meals in the condos. We had brought a lot of food with us because we had planned to do this. The kitchens were very nice and we had everything we needed to prepare meals. The pool is perfect in size and well maintained. The beach on the Caribbean side was not so great for our family's needs but a short ride on a provided golf cart took us to the beautiful, practically private beach on the Atlantic side of the island. Each unit has it's own golf cart. We used them every day. We enjoyed the huts on the Atlantic beach for shade, the provided beach chairs, boogie boards and umbrellas everyday. Morning coffee on the deck overlooking the waters of both oceans and amazing stars to view at night were just a few of the many things we enjoyed. The teenagers enjoyed the provided kayaks on the Caribbean side but we spent most of our time on the Atlantic. We made a couple of trips to Cocodimama Beach which was very close by. Amazing, perfect place for everyone, even the 2 year old babies could walk way out and paddle around in their swim jackets. I really can't say enough about this property. It was the perfect place for our family gathering. Above all we felt safe and the people of Eleuthera are so nice. This is not a place to go to if you want to be around a lot of people and are looking for a lot of activity. It is a place to reconnect with family and enjoy nature. I highly recommend it. I hope to return one day. Quick referrals: Rolle's Auto Rental and Big Daddy's Auto Rental were both great to work with for our car rental needs. We had so much luggage that we had Big Daddy provide a "luggage vehicle" for us as well as van rental. Perfect solution. Service was excellent from both of these providers. Groceries are quite expensive on the island but you can get what you need. There is a Discount Grocery and East and Final Grocery close by. Market Place is quite a drive but worth the trip

Amazing week in paradise

Rented all 8 condo's in the compound for a week long family reunion. Each 2br, 2ba condo was in excellent shape, smartly decorated and new appliances. . The compound was also in great shape. Pool was perfect. Tia the property manager was in constant contact and on the spot with any requests or questions. Buttonwood is centrally located on the island, so convenient to all day trips. We discovered unbelievable beaches, went to clubs to swim and dine. Food on the island was unbelievable. Not a bad meal anywhere. Do your homework in advance and I highly recommend you listen to the advice the owners/ managers of the property, give you. They were never wrong. Recommended day trips: Harbour Island, French Leave Beach, Rainbow Beach, Surfers Beach. Tippy's for lunch or dinner on the ocean. Friday fish fry in Governors Harbor was a fun night and very good food!
