Character-filled Snowy River experience!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bush Grove. Everywhere you turn there is something to delight - both inside and out. From the hand-crafted furnishings, the stunning artwork, the beautiful outlook from the front windows and the gorgeous riverfront a short (albeit rough) drive from the cabin. Bushy has ensured that the cabin has everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Internet is patchy, which didn’t really worry us, but might be worth knowing if that’s important for some reason. We hope to return to soak up the ambience that Bush Grove offers.

Beautiful Bush Hideaway
Bush grove was just what my soul needed. What an amazing place! Amazing, creative, quirky, cozy and well appointed. Not the mention the beautiful views (breathtaking at sunrise) and the animals - domestic and wild. Bushy (Gary) was a friendly easy going host who had great stories to tell and was very generous. The snowy river at the bottom of the property is a definite must do - so peaceful. Thanks for the great stay Bushy, we will definitely be back

Blissful quiet and sublime fishing
We were pleasantly surprised to discover Gary Bush's property online and delighted to see how much more authentic it was in 3D than the photos and website description suggested. Gary made us so welcome we felt like friends visiting him. We enjoyed peaceful days with possibly the best trout ever, catching incredible rainbows and browns that became our evening feasts, and cosy nights sleeping in what felt like a treehouse. When we met the artist Lucy Rose who had created the amazing works that adorned the walls of Bush Grove, we said we had never before slept in an art gallery and told her what fun this was. Gary's little piece of paradise is utterly beautiful and we would happily give it 6 stars out of 5.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bush Grove. Garry was an excellent host and checked in regularly to see if there was anything we needed/wanted. He was great in providing ideas on where to go and what to see. The view from the property is amazing. Access down to the Snowy River an added bonus. The location was perfect being only 10 minutes out of Jindabyne and 45 mins to Thredbo.

Fantastic stay at Bushgrove. Great to be able to cruise down to the river for fishing, sit around the cabin having a few drinks and watch all the wildlife come and go. Bushy is a great host and very welcoming. Cabin has everything you need for a good comfortable couple of days.

Relax and recharge
Bush Grove has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Stock up on groceries in town and you never have to leave! The kitchen has everything you need including a massive fridge, gas hotplates and electric oven. Gary is a lovely host who will assist in any way possible to ensure you enjoy your stay. If you have a 4wd make sure you take a drive, on the property, down to the Snowy River...its breathtaking.

Perfect Rural Setting
My Wife and I had a lovely relaxing stay at Bushgrove. Gary was a great host and even made sure the old fuel stove was in good working order so we could cook a perfect roast dinner. It's a 4km dirt road entry and is passable in most cars, lowered cars might struggle. The property itself was awesome with the river running right through it so if you love freshwater fishing it's perfect. A great place to get away and only 10-15 mons from Jindabyne town centre.

Seeking Serenity
Absolute perfection. Gary is the consummate host. So delightful to deal with and the property is sublime. I was seeking solitude and a chance to get away from it all and this beautiful slice of Australian Snowy Mountain heaven delivered. I will definitely be going back. The cabin is perfect for an alone or couples escape and the short walk to the river is well worth the trek. Simply magical. Gary made sure everything was perfect. This is one incredible little piece of heaven near beautiful Jindabyne that I will never forget. Thank you Gary

Perfection!!
A short stay but a memorable one. Perfect cold nights by the fire, spacious living and sleeping area, heated bathroom.. it even snowed our last day. Short walk to a secluded snowy river and short drive to the snowy mountains where I got to see snow for the first time. Bushy is a great host and gave us insight of things to do. Overall was a perfect anniversary weekend away and I wish we could have stayed longer.

Could have stayed longer!
We spent two nights at Bush Grove between Christmas and New Year and could have stayed much longer. Loved the rustic charm of the cottage and the surrounds. It was even better than had imagined. The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything we could have needed. The surrounds and views were amazing it was so quiet and tranquil. Gary was a wonderful host and happy to chat and help with anything we needed and we enjoyed the visits from his 2 dogs!. We also had visits from kangaroos, deer and cockatoos. Short trip to Jindabyne or Dalgety for meals but we chose to enjoy the BBQ and views where we were. Would definitely like to return one day and will highly recommend.

Secluded, peaceful getaway
Had a fantastic Christmas break at Bush Grove. The studio is bigger than it appears in the photos and host Gary has done a fab job in kitting it out with everything you could need (including a big fridge, great oven and dishwasher - I cooked a full Christmas dinner with no trouble!). Fun to wander down to the Snowy River and to be accompanied by one of Bushy’s two very friendly dogs. Close to Jindabyne it was a great base for bush walks in Perisher and near Thredbo. A great place to get away from it all and get back to nature! Highly recommend ☺️

A perfect getaway cottage in a beautiful location.
Such a lovely little cottage located by the snowy river which is just a short walk down the gully. My partner and I love it so much we have been multiple times during the winter months when we go to Perisher.

Gary is a wonderful host! My daughter and I stayed in the studio for four days skiing at Perisher. About 10 minutes out of Jindabyne, it really was a wonderful experience driving down the dirt road in the morning accompanied by herds of deer, kangaroos and rabbits. Added another dimension to our trip. We didn’t feel at all isolated as Gary took care to ensure we were fine and lit the fire for us so that we came home each night to very welcome warmth. Beautifully decorated rustic home away from home. Thanks Gary for taking such good care!

Clean, roomy, warm, fitted out with all the essentials. Pretty location, friendly animals, rustic but charming. Beautiful art work on the walls, Gary was very helpful and friendly with lots of local knowledge. If your looking for a quiet out of the way location Bushgrove is the place for you. My only negative, the bed was hard but plenty of blankets to keep you warm.

This is truly an amazing place to stay, it's like stepping back in time but with all the modern conveniences and Gary is a fantastic host, who had the cottage already heated up for us by the log fire when we first arrived. Our days were spent having fun in the snowfields then we spent the evenings snug and toastie in the cottage.

Bushy was the best host, very generous with his time and entertaining.
Our stay at Bushgrove was perfect for our honeymoon. The rustic ambiance, horse paintings, fireplace and outlook over the snowy river was truly a wonderful experience. Amazing Snowy Mountain Escape
Get a true feeling of the snowy Mountain countryside in this beautiful rustic cabin, with all modern facilities, you won’t be disappointed, it has its own running creek, native wildlife and it is close to town. The host Gary is more than accommodating, with much knowledge on the area, with his own wild brumbies in the property. A definite visit to get the true feeling of the region.

Secret location worth visiting
All I can say is you need to come and visit this gem of a place. If you want to see the real Australia with breathtaking views, lots of wildlife & a cosy cabin that makes you feel you are deep in 'Man From Snowy River Territory'. The host Gary is one of the nicest people I have ever met & his dedication to what he has done here is a credit to him - he even has 2 dogs that are more than happy to say hello. He took us on a drive down to the river where we saw even more hidden aspects of the Snowy River. He made a few calls to make sure we could drive from Jindabyne over the Alpine Highway the next day after much snowfall & even called the next day to make sure we arrived safely. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to speak highly enough of this unique location that makes you proud to be Australian and share in its spoils on offer. Todd

Shed or Gallery ?
A unique property with beautiful views. On arrival Bushy directed us to the "Shed" which it was; on the outside. Once on the verandah the photos came into view. Once inside it transformed into a museum come art gallery. It must be seen. Gary and I, after a few minutes, were talking like old mates. A great host. He drove me down to the Snowy River and his River shack, like Bush Grove Cottage, the workmanship shone. The track down to the River could be driven by any experienced 4WDer but being washed out after heavy rain I'd let Gary drive you down first until its fixed. We have stayed in rentals for years but this one is the most unique. Not to be missed along with Gary Bush the greatest host we have met.

Authentic Snowy mountain stay
Gary Bush is an excellent host giving generous hospitality in his Snowy Mountain cottage. Cosy wood heater, comfy bed, bath and well equipped kitchen. The property has Bush character, something to be treasured in a technological world! The unmade access road was rough for 4 km following heavy rain but the drive into Jindabyne is enjoyable and the town has much to offer.

We had the most wonderful stay, could easily have stayed on and turned our weekend into a week. The cabin is so cosy and perfectly equipped, plenty of space to relax and very comfortable. The property is beautiful. We enjoyed a misty walk down to the river each morning. Bushy is a wonderful host, kind, warm and generous. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again - it was a beautiful experience and lovely to switch off and relax in such peaceful surroundings.
