Shelter Cove Jones Beach Hotels

"Shelter Cove is an absolute GEM, WAY off the beaten path. The hotel is in a prime location with beautiful views and direct access to black sands beaches, tide pools and even a lighthouse! The hotel is still being renovated, so it's not perfect. But the staff is helpful and the location is wonderful."

"This site was uniquely beautiful. Outside our screen door were two chairs at the edge of a small cliff overlooking the rugged coastline. We lost track of how much time we spent in these chairs. We saw the high tide. We saw the low tide. We saw large hawks swoop down low just in front of us. We watched deer as they sauntered right in front of our little cliff. We watched a baby seal play in the cove for nearly an hour. The weather was cool, the sea was tumultuous. That night in our room we fell asleep the steady roar of the ocean. And...there was a lovely cafe just 70 feet from our room. Now, the bad: You might find that the site used for pre-check-in to be difficult to use. For me it was a bad experience. My photos would not upload as the site kept rejectcing them. Finally I emailed the host and we took car of the pre-check-in photos through SMS. That was easy enough. They might want to find a frienlier pre-check-in process than the one I tired using at first."

"I think this is a rare find. There are three bedroom with queen/king beds (rather than rooms with twin beds) on three different floors. This was perfect for our family with three adult couples and one three year old. The toys were a hit with our 3 year old. There are even discreet safety gates on the stairs.The main floor has plenty of room and the kitchen works well. The house is spacious. The house looks newly remodeled and really works well! The views are lovely, the main living space is sunny and we enjoyed the sunsets and view of the sea in the hottub. All the bedrooms are a good size which we appreciated. For once there is no "bad bedroom" that someone gets stuck with. All the bedrooms are lovely. The house has plenty of towels and generous supplies which lately has been an issue in other rentals. The owner is the most responsive owner we have ever had, We highly recommend this home. It was really a lovely space to spend time with our family."

"We loved staying in this house. Everything was perfect for our short visit. Comfortable couch, bed and pillows. Just the right amount of furnishings to feel like home, but minimalist so it didn’t feel like you were actually in someone’s home. Hard surface flooring throughout, with no carpet, which we appreciated. Everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom was there. The location was safe and made us feel like locals. We’d stay here again. "

"Highly recommend this home. The road getting to Shelter Cove is amazing, just don’t be in a hurry. And the town is great; you can walk to everything. The house was clean and perfect for our family of 7. Had everything we needed and would stay here again if we ever get to Shelter cove again"

"This is my second year to stay at Comfort Cove for the annual "Gimme Shelter" (GS) kayak fishing tournament and community event. I came back because my experience last year was so positive. Last year I was here solo, this year my wife came along. It's close to the activities near the campground meeting pavilion and boat launch. My wife says she loves that king size bed. The view is great. We discovered a new nearby restaurant, the Surf Point Coffee Shop & Bistro for breakfasts and lunch and the nearby Gyppo Ale Mill for dinner. Great times @ Shelter Cove. "
