FAV LUX KAGOSHIMA TENMONKAN

"We booked a queen shower room, non smoking. This is a fairly new hotel the room we had was great and had a small writing desk. It is in a good quiet location and there are plenty of restaurants near by. It is a 10 minute walk from the tram stop & airport bus stop which was extremely convenient for us as we here flying out from Kagoshima to Osaka. Breakfast is on the top floor as is the reception area. The view from the top is wonderful with the volcano in the background.The highlight for us was the breakfast as you have a three choices to choose from which they bring over to your table, we had smoked salmon with poached eggs and toast with avocado, this was a welcome change from the buffets breakfast we had in all the other hotels during our six week holiday. There was great music playing in the background which added to the really pleasant ambiance. The young chef lady and waitress were absolutely delightful. I would definitively stay at this hotel again."

"Sheraton Kagoshima is new & clean. Room size is good for Japan standard. There is a shuttle bus running to the Kagoshima Station. Which is actually walkable if you have 20 minutes. Overall an enjoyable stay. And there is an onsen at site."
JR KYUSHU HOTEL Kagoshima

"Recently stayed 2 nights at the JR Kyushu Kagoshima. Check in/check out all friendly and efficient. The location is amazing. You don’t even have to go outside the station to access the hotel reception. Amazing. The staff were welcoming in saying hello everytime you either left or returned to the hotel. Great to see. Room was adequate for 3 people, but a little small for 3 large suitcases. Shower was good. The reason I’m not giving this hotel a full score is because of the pillows. I’m sorry, but the pillows were so hard it was like laying on a rock. Not sure what those beads in the pillows are but it really made both nights hard to get any sleep. Sorry, but I had to mention it. But overall, the location can’t be beat, the staff are very friendly and the price is very good for the type of room you get."

"The hotel has a beautiful waterfront view. The room we stayed was a bit old but spacious and had a table snd chairs which was very convenient for eating. There were 2 convenience stores and Bento (take away food) shop in front of the hotel. There is a bus stop to go to CBD in 5mins walk. A Bus takes 20-30-mins to CBD, only 230yen (like $2) and a taxi takes 10-15 mins less than 2000yen (like $20). The breakfast buffet was great, a lot of good choices and friendly staff, Tanimura san was very friendly and looked after us very well. We appreciate their hospitality. Overall it’s a good hotel in a quiet area with friendly staff."
