“I got bed bugs from this place. After waking up after the first day I noticed red bumps on my feet and ankles. I thought maybe it was from a reaction from somewhere else. Put lotion on and they started to go away. Then after the second night, I woke up with far worse bites. When pulling back the sheets I then discovered black dots all along the foot of the bed in the sheets and red like little bugs. I tried to talk to the cleaning person that morning about this and she was dismissive of my……

“I would have never expected that anything filthy like this exists in New Zealand and is listed on Expedia. I booked 3 Deluxe Rooms. What we found was a run down filthy place and only one room booked for us, although I was charged for 3 "Deluxe Rooms" . We were offered one additional room, which was a "Family Room" with 5 beds, which we then had to share. We have never seen anything as bad as this before. On top of this it was unbelievably noisy, right above their pub with loud music and yelling……

“The place was absolutely splendid! And amazing night away where we got to sit outside by the fire and it was the best night for stargazing. The local Pizza Barn is so worth it too Overall and incredible night at such an incredible place!”

“Great place for a family Christmas. ”

“We arrived around 10 minutes early. Barb was there cleaning. We sat on the deck until she finished. A bit of a mix up as she thought the check in time was 3pm but online it said 2pm. The bach was in a very quiet area, of what used to be a campground. It suited us for what we needed. We all had a great sleep and everything you need is there. Thankyou Barb.”

“Thank you Dianne for having us :-). A beautiful place to stay and catered everyone.”

“This was the perfect small place for us. Everything was easy from beginning to end. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay just the two of us.”

“View was stunning, nice to see lush green farm life areas. Stargazing at night is perfect lots more starts than East Auckland. The bed sheets were so comfy I've purchased myself a pair. Love the environmentally friendly off grid bio toilet. Awesome selection of DVDs would happily stay again to binge watch some more. Amenities, surf beaches and walking tracks are a short drive. The sunrise in the morning is beautiful in between the chilly foggy mornings :)Great communication with the host, happy……
