“Owner was very nice and gave clear directions and had lots of nice beach gear to loan. It is kind of a boarding house situation with different guests in different bedrooms I missed that it wasn't air conditioned in the description. Temp was ok at night but pretty warm mid afternoon. Easy walk to beaches and pool. Meh bed.”

Also, access to the Poipu Beach Athletic Club was a great perk. The pool and restaurant there are comparable to many of the island's nicer resorts. “My husband, daughter and I all had a perfectly wonderful stay at Sea Lodge J6. The accommmodations were just as described, newly renovated, clean and comfortable and the view 6 miles east to Kilauea Point lighthouse is entrancing. We also enjoyed Laysan Albatross regularly flying by the windows, whales at a distance one afternoon and constant cool ocean breezes. I would recommend this lodging to anyone and we plan to return in the next year or two.”

"Great value stay in Kauai, especially for families. This is probably the best value hotel we’ve stayed at in Hawaii. It’s not a luxury resort, but it offers everything you need. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well maintained without feeling outdated. The location is a huge plus. It’s close to the airport and within easy walking distance to Coconut Marketplace, where you can find restaurants and a grocery store. Not needing to drive for meals or snacks was extremely convenient. The hotel’s restaurant, Lava Lava Beach Club, is also delicious and worth trying. One of the most memorable moments of our stay was spotting a monk seal resting right on the beach in front of the hotel—such a special and unexpected experience. A couple of small things could be improved: the shower pressure in our room was a bit weak, and the public microwave in the lobby wasn’t very easy to find. Overall, this hotel is a great option for families. Our 2-year-old had a wonderful time here, and we would happily stay again on our next trip to Kauai."
