Trade Days Family Trip

We had a wonderful time staying at this home and would definitely go again. It was perfect with all the activities to keep our teenagers happy and the bunk room was excellent. My only suggestion with that, is to carefully read the fine print as I was unaware when I paid that I was one person shy to include the bunkhouse. I did pay extra at check in and the owner was kind enough to send her cleaning crew over so the kids could get settled. The only other thing I would suggest to the owner is that the master bedroom bed is in need of replacing. Thanks for a great getaway!

Family Vacation

This an awesome house with plenty of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy each other. The bunk room was great to play charades and be as loud as they wanted without disturbing the whole house. We have a family vacation each year and everyone agreed would definitely come back to this house again.

Beautiful home/scenery & amazing getaway!

Everything was beyond perfect at this house! It blew my mind how comforting and spacious it was. I will definitely be renting again! Couldn't have had a better weekend thanks to this spot :)

The best vacation house ever!!

We had a wonderful time staying here. Three generations of family. The game room was full of things to do. The hot tub was great. Plenty of room to do Christmas Cookies. It was clean and the kids loved the bunkhouse. Everything vas perfect.

Great place for a celebration!

We were in town for a friend's wedding so all the bridesmaids and groomsmen needed to stay close by. This place was perfect!! The house was well stocked with essentials too! Loved having all the spices on hand for cooking. A return trip is a must so that we can take advantage of all of the games and the pool.

Great home for large family gathering

The Blue Moon Lodge provided a perfect place to hold our annual family Christmas weekend. There were plenty of beds, spacious kitchen, living room and game room. Although we didn't get a chance to enjoy the hotub, it was ready to go for us. The pool area looked like it would be a lot of fun during the warmer months. The owners gave us a tour of the facilities and were very helpful. The pictures were spot on so if you are looking for a house with plenty of space and peace and quiet, this is the place!

Great Country Get-away

We had our family reunion here and had a great time. The main house was nicely appointed and comfortable, and the bunkhouse was great for the teens. We lost power due to a lightning strike, but we communicated with the property manager and the power company had things back up within an hour. About the only thing was the AC had some trouble keeping up with demand, but not surprising given we had 30 people, doors opening and closely outside all of the time, and temps outside of over 100. Would gladly stay here again and hope you enjoy your stay as much as we enjoyed ours. God bless!

House needed better cleaning

The home was well stocked. The cleanliness of the house not so much. One family member found hair on her pillow on our first stay. Another family member picked up dog hair on the bottom of her new black tights, that she she opened, from just walking from the bathroom to the bedroom and we didn’t take our own dogs. There was a stray dog on the property the whole weekend and nothing was done with the stray dog. Luckily there was dog food there so we made sure he was feed and had water all weekend. We took all the trash out, washed all the dishes, towels and took off the bedding when we left, per the instructions.

Great house and pool

First let me say that we had a great time and there were a lot of things great with the property. Wonderful lay out of the house. Loved the kitchen. Great outdoor space. There were a few issue that I think renters should be aware of. Not to change them from renting this property but just so they aren’t blindsided. It appears that one of the AC units has had problems for quite some time, so there are 5 window units that are used to cool 5 of the bedrooms, living, and kitchen/dining areas. The one unit was not working when we arrived. They worked on the AC for 2 days but after that nobody else came out. The window units will keep the house fairly cool and we just took advantage of the pool during the afternoon. You cannot run any appliance in the kitchen with the window unit running. It will flip the breaker. The breaker had been flipped so much it was loose. Be careful. We notified Trent on all these issues. He did send an electrician out but it was not fixed. After 2 days of waiting on service people and texting Trent we gave up and just decided to make do. We have rented properties for the last 13 years and sometimes there are issue. Again, we enjoyed the property and hope the owners will use this review to improve the property. Great memories were made and we have no regrets about renting this property. On a side note, we did not ask for compensation from the owner and none was given

Not what we expected

We rented this home from July 25th-July 27th, which was a 4.5 hour drive from our home but figured the pool and gameroom were worth the drive. 1.5 hours before check in I received a call from Trent asking if we could give him more time because the guest that left that morning "trashed the home". I informed him we would need to get to the home at 4pm as planned because we were driving with a dog and a 10 month old baby and had nowhere to hang out while they were cleaning. He said that was fine. When we arrived around 4:15pm Trent greeted us and said the cleaning crew was done and were leaving. The kids were so excited to get in the pool, we went there 1st. The water was so gloomy, we could not see the bottom of the pool. We emailed Bri. She had Trent come over. he stated the pool was green when he arrived earlier and the pumps had been shut off by the prev. renters and he had just shocked it before we arrived. They both assured us that it was safe to get in and Bri did offer to give us a refund if we wanted to leave We decided to stay since we took days off from work and drove so long but didnt feel safe to get in the pool. the gameroom was so hot especially with 9 bodies in there playing darts, pool and air hockey. I emailed bri she sent ac guys over the next morning,. They couldnt repair because new system ducts were put in wrong. Bri did reimburse us $ for the AC inconvenience which was very much appreciated. Fans in master bedroom and gameroom were full of dust. Not a clean place. leftover food in fridge including an almost rotten watermelon. living room window sills had dead bugs, restrooms had left over half used and empty bodywash/shampoo bottles. pool deck had a very dangerous board sticking up that could easily trip someone, patio furniture was broken with glass missing, torn up pool noodles on deck. beer cans and trash on the side of pool. AC vents esp. register above master bed were filled with dust. 2 stray dogs were on and off the property. Gate will not keep your dog in and wont keep dogs out. Gate door were easily pushed at bottom enabling the stray dogs to come in and out. We let ours out only to go potty because we didnt want her to encounter the other dogs. Bri was nice and attentive. We did enjoy the pool day 2 and 3. Day 1 was spent in the hot tub! Maybe a new cleaning crew and less furniture/clutter/dust collectors in the house would help. We made the best of our stay but sadly wont be returning. :(

Wonderful Reunion Event Area!!

I had so many family members remark on how this was the best place to rent out for our family reunion. The place was spacious, felt like home and full of amenities. Teenagers loved the pool. The ONLY major issue was the sprinkler system running outside the backyard. It was clear it was a recycled septic sprinkler. The smell made being in the backyard while running unbearable. Luckily it only ran late at night. This was the only drawback. We still will be back but will make sure the sprinkler is turned off or bleach tablets killing the smell. The location of the rental was near Tom Finley Park where we went fishing. Also close to the Extended Stay at Gun Barrel City where the overflow of family members stayed. Like I said, will stay here again.

We had an amazing time at our family reunion at Blue Moon. The accommodations were perfect for our family of 30. The grill/smoker were awesome for our cook out. The jacuzzi and the pool were great! The kitchen was big and had plenty of utensils.A few recommendations: better WiFi, the mattresses could stand to be upgraded and please consider making the house ADA compliant. We would definitely consider using again.

Worked well for a large group of ladies!

Overall, the house was great for us. There were a few issues that I hope can be resolved before your next group. First, one toilet in the bunkhouse was very slow to fill up, so it wasn’t very usable. Also, the bunkhouse was not very clean. One girl had to brush away spider webs and ended up having two bites on her foot. Some of the sheets had a musty smell and the whole bunkhouse had an unpleasant odor. We didn’t know which internet provider we were to use. The password was available, but we had to call and ask which one to sign into. The person I spoke to was very kind, although he didn’t know which provider we were to use either.

Great Property for a Navy Family Reunion

It was a great property for 4 families to meet up and enjoy the outdoors. Couldn't ask for better weather and the kids enjoyed running around with each other outside and taking over the bunkhouse.

Lots of room

There were lots of comfy beds, nice bedding, and room to roam. Would have been nice to have a few more lg pots for cooking for a group. They worked hard to make sure we were comfortable. Thanks!

Space enough for Everyone

All went well from arrival to departure and the home was as advertised. Plenty of towels, plenty of activity diversions, plenty of room and a kitchen well stocked for those littler things that you may have forgotten. The only thing we had a problem with was the TV remotes but it was just a matter of getting used to the controls.

I wish i coups give a 20 out of 10 stars. Trent was amazing!! Super helpful and friendly!!! The house couldn't have been more perfect for our group. We had 4 moms and 15 seniors and we all loved every minute of it!!!

Spacious and Relaxing

Our family reunion was held here and the space of this property was awesome for our group of nine, aged 11-62. The dining table was tremendously appreciated for seating our crowd for meals, games and activities. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of dishware. We enjoyed the fact of two refrigerators, two microwaves (though we never figured out how to work one!), multiple washers and dryers. Basic soaps, cleaning agents and bathroom needs were all supplied. The living room had enough comfy seating for all and the 6 bedrooms nice for spreading out for personal time. We enjoyed the two hot tubs and added space of patio. The property manager, Trent, was more communicative than any other we have had with a kind interest in our having a pleasant stay. He was also interested in guest point of view observations we shared about our stay. The location is out in the country and the roads there a bit rough so it is definitely quiet and peaceful if your gang is looking to cozy up and spend quality time together in a home that meets group needs. Its is located about an hour drive to Love Field if you are doing an airport run or heading downtown Dallas.

Everything we desired and more!

This house was perfect for our family Christmas gathering! Christmas decorations were a perfect addition to the spacious house which accommodated for many people whether it was in the kitchen, dining area, living room, game area, or huge fenced in backyard! There were so many options for entertainment and the ability to enjoy one anthers company! Thank you for a great experience!

Don't Let The Pictures Fool You!!

The place was dirty. The dishes were dirty but put away. The dishes had food inside and on the outside. One dish had a seed left in it but was put away like it was clean. The stove was dirty. The kitchen ceiling fan had cob webs and dirt like it had never been cleaned. The couches in the living room with the big TV have never been cleaned. It was some of everything up under the cushions. There were no face cloths. They only had dirty stained towels in the closet. We had to go to Walmart and purchase towels and face clothes. The stains on all the towels was ridiculous. The sheets had stains on them and had to be washed before I could sleep on them. They had bugs inside the house and a wasp nest at one of the doors. There were two jacuzzis outside. One had frogs living in it and the other stinked. They both had leaves and other stuff floating in it. The pool had broken board and was too dangerous to have the children on, especially with no shoes. The shower was dirty. They did not clean the strands of hair from the previous people. I showed all of this to the owner, along with receipts. I took pictures as evidence. He came to work on the jacuzzis one day left the top off and never came back. They need to clean, paint, and fix the place up. He never reimbursed for the money spent on the face cloths or towels. I emailed VRBO and the owner and sent pictures and no one cared.
