Fijn, schoon huisje dichtbij Lake Windermere. Heerlijk rustig, maar wel afgelegen. Slechte telefoonverbinding, daarentegen is de wifi wel prima. Hou rekening met een smalle weg naar het huisje toe, dus rustig rijden en regelmatig achteruit om een tegenligger door te laten. Lake Windermere is prettig toeristisch en Ambleside een erg leuk plaatsje iets verder weg. Aanraders: Wastwater en (old man of) Coniston

This accommodation was exactly what we wanted.

This accommodation was exactly what we wanted. It was clean, comfortable, well equipped and practical. It has stunning views and is very peaceful. The owner is lovely and welcoming. We booked it for the rural location and we got it. However, if you want to be able to walk to a shop, pub or restaurant then it is not for you. We loved it !!

The cottage was excellent and in a stunning location. We enjoyed our stay there and would consider booking the same cottage or the one next door on another occasion. One small point I would make is that I think it would be helpful if the fact that towels are not provided was highlighted in the details.

Very nicely appointed and comfortably appointed cottage with wonderful view of the valley and fells. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to be closer to the real Lake District without having to be part of the 'crowd'. Only drawback was the lack of mobile signal but got round this with the internet connection in the cottage.

Loved the place, and everything we needed was provided. Great views and plenty of local walking. Would definitely book again. Obviously you won't get a supermarket etc just round the corner, but that's exactly the appeal.
