    Come enjoy the Sun, Surf and Sand of the Tropical island paradise of Historic, fun filled Key West.
    You will love staying in this great location where 90% of the people are locals
    They each have an interesting Key West tale to tell and are a warm, friendly and diverse group. Here you will absorb the ambiance that made Key West what it is today. Varela St Retreat is located in the historic Old Town section away from the hustle and buste of noisy Duval St.
    There is free parking on the sides of the street in designated areas.
    It is only 1/2 mile to the closest beach and a 7 minute walk to Duval the main street. It is less than 1 block to the White Street art gallery district, the grocery, laundry, shops, restaurants, park and more.
    Go ahead and kick your feet up and make yourself at home! You are about to enter Varela St Retreat. Here you will have your very own private full front porch to enjoy. It is a good place to eat, exchange local gossip or just plain curl up and read a good book.
    The apartment features a luxurious oversized shower, full kitchen, internet, cable and more.

We had an awesome stay! The home has such charm and character; loved sitting on the front porch, people watching. We found on street parking close by and didn’t move car for our 3 days stay because we walked or biked everywhere. It is a quick mile walk to Duval street and enjoyed taking different routes to see the sights. It was easy to communicate with host, received all info timely, would stay again next time in Key West!

Everything was just fine. Marilyn was responsive, the place was clean and we were able to find parking fairly close to the property. We are looking forward to possibly staying again next year.

House was small and adequate for the two of us. I thought the bed mattress was too soft and could be replaced. I could have used a dish pan. Water was hot and lights really good in bathroom. Pillows were too hard for me, would have liked option for soft pillow. The place was quite clean.

The host was very nice. Loved the big walk-in shower and front porch. A great place to get away from the hustle. In the neighborhood. The planes coming from above were loud, but didn’t bother our sleep with window A/C. Old and dated, but clean. We had to walk a while and are older so we stopped along the way.

Our second time, staying in this little house. Nice neighborhood, within a mile walk to our snorkeling excursions and Duval street for dinner. Owners are quick to respond to our questions. Easy check in and check out processes. Will stay here again the next time we are in key west.

Great place to stay

Simple check in, clean, quiet, and cozy. Comfy beds and fluffy towels. Within walking or biking distance of just about everything. Loved having my morning coffee on the front porch.
