This was a great place to stay, the home is clean and cute. The neighborhood was quiet, near a park, and close to town. Checking in was easy and the hosts are polite and easy to work with.
Came to Kingsport to visit family & friends. Sevier Cottage was convenient to restaurants & shopping. Will definitely stay here on our next trip. Thanks for everything.
The owner is very quick to communicate with you. The home is small, but very clean and well kept. Location was convienent and in a fairly quiet neighborhood.Cons:Driveway is uphill with a small area to turn aroundNo chairs on front porch to sit onNo dishwasher in kitchen. We would stay here again!
This property was close to everything. It might be tucked down a neighborhood you wouldn’t expect but it was perfect. Just 5 minutes to downtown or 8 minutes to the convention center. It is the best place to stay if you are staying just for the weekend. I would stay here again!
This is a great little house that has been nicely remodeled. Very clean and tidy. The neighborhood is cute and felt very safe. I contacted the host once and he responded timely. I will definitely be staying again and recommend this rental to anyone.
This house was a home away from home. I traveled to TN to care for my sister after surgery & this place was perfect for that. I even with very short notice I asked to arrive a day early & Gregg was 100% accommodating even though was checking out same day that I was checking in. I am so grateful!
We had an excellent stay! When we arrived at the home they were just finishing cleaning the home and the couple was very friendly and helpful. The entire house is newly updated, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. The cleanliness was excellent, which is one of the most important things to me. Gregg, the owner, made himself available during our entire stay. I would highly recommend Sevier Cottage and would not hesitate to stay there again!!
The property itself was just as advertised. The location was great - close to a lot of good restaurant options. When I left there was an ambulance and 5 or 6 police cars about 10 houses down from where I was staying. I know if my wife was with me, she would not feel safe staying there again. Could be nothing, but it was definitely eye-opening.
We were in Kingsport to visit relatives and needed a place to stay. This house was clean, comfortable and the neighborhood was quiet. We didn’t need to cook, so I can’t speak to that. The only negative I have to say is that the air freshener was too strong when we first got there. It made us wonder if it was going to smell bad when it wore off but it didn’t. The house didn’t need it. I’d definitely stay here again and just ask the host to hold the air freshener.
The home was cozy and beautifully decorated. The check in process went smoothly. My only suggestion is to invest in better mattresses or maybe some memory foam toppers for the beds. The three of us ladies were all 50+ in age and our backs could've used a little more cushion. Also the beds set low and my 70 year old momma had a little difficulty getting into & out of the beds. Overall the experience was wonderful.
Visiting on laws for Thanksgiving and usually we stay in a hotel but since they are elderly and no longer up for cooking, I decided to rent a home so they could come over to eat. This house was perfect…it was 5 mins from their house. My husband l, daughter, and I had everything we needed and check in was easy. I verified with the owner that it was ok for the family to come over for the meal and they said it was ok.
House had more than I expected-pots, pans, etc and it was just what I needed. Got nice and warm when the temps got into the 20’s. My only very minor issue which is more me specific is that the motion detector lights outside are very sensitive and kept flashing on and off at night. It kept me up because it felt as if a flashlight was shining in. That being said, you could just bring an eye mask. Or sleep like my husband and not even notice! 😉
Will definitely book here again next time we are in town.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this recently updated property. The home is small (about 750 sq. ft.) but has what you need for a comfortable stay. And it was clean.
The neighborhood is a mix of small houses. It was quiet in the evenings and we felt safe. It would be a long walk into Kingsport proper, but only a few minutes drive. There's also a Food City and other stores a few minutes drive in the other direction.
For light sleepers, you may want to bring earplugs - the train runs through town day and night and depending on the wind direction...... Having said that, we got used to the sounds within a couple of days (we stayed a week).
The heating is more than adequate (turn down before going to bed!) and the water pressure is excellent. We found the mattresses comfortable. There is enough kitchen equipment to make basic meals. The living room is small, but has seating for 4.
We did have to contact Gregg while we were there for a problem with the water. He responded immediately and the plumber came the same day to resolve the issue.
All in all, we recommend the house and location and felt it was a terrific value.
Everything about our stay just before my wedding was delightful. Beautifully put together house and you won’t go wrong with booking here for your trip to Kingsport whether it be for business or pleasure.
