Everything about the property was wonderful and exactly as presented; location was wonderful and everything worked out very well - 5 STARS; we will definitely stay there again, next time in Leeds, New york
Nice that it is close to a river but necessitates taking a short walk for it. Basically is on a parking lot. Was not impressed that when we arrived after dark, the lights did not turn on by the switch by the door (had to reset on a remote on far side of room), the TV was not on a setting that would work and there was almost no toilet paper. We did not get a reply that night but did the next day.
Location, location, location - it was perfect. Space of privacy, big back yard, and off the beaten path. Close to wedding venue, Gather Greene. Welcoming - both the home and the town. I highly recommend making Leeds and this lovely one bedroom home a stopping point on your travels through the Catskills.
There are 3 wood chipping/logging sites in operation surrounding the house, it is loud along with the street noise!! Flies in the house for 4 days, ridiculous. attached house was empty, as a woman traveling alone surrounded by woods, well I didn’t feel safe. cute deck doesn’t have an umbrella, there is no shade, unless as Michelle suggested, you sit under her deck next to the garage on broken cement with a view of the large parking area & and a leaking drain pipe. She doesn’t live here, she will only except texts & doesn’t answer the phone. If you want to shower in sulphur with a rotten egg smell - this place is for you. The exhaust fan over stove does not work, you can’t really cook without opening windows, door (no screen). I had trouble locking the door@ 6:00am to go out, I called, no answer! If something happens here- you are on your own!! I’m ill & came here to rest/relax/paint. The lovely landscaping is nothing but weeds & the grass needs mowing. No photos of that or the back of the house. There are goats next door ❤️, but be careful, I think that’s an electric fence, goats don’t come near it & I didn’t touch it, don’t let her tell you that you can pet the friendly goats. I know this is lengthy & somehow the reviews are good??? Too many remotes & switches all over for lights, fans, a/c & good luck turning the TV on, Michelle texted a ‘process’ to do that. If none of these things bother you- go for it. don’t lean on kitchen counters or bathroom sink, - not attached!
Check in was super easy and the rental had everything we needed! Close to all the things we wanted to do in the area without the crazy prices. Would definitely stay again in area.
Michelle's property was very neat, clean and comfortable. I recommend her property to anyone looking for a good place to stay if visiting the catskills. I can't praise Michelle enough for the way she made my wife and I feel at home.
Michelle was very prompt in getting back to us regarding our stay and staying in contact with us should we need anything. The property and rental were both clean and quiet and we will be back for sure.
The apartment was very clean and well equipped. Michelle was very responsive by text after I had checked in. As others have mentioned, there is a slight sulfur smell to the water. I took the advice from an earlier review and brought several gallons of water from home. There were plenty of smaller bottles of drinking water available but I'm trying to not use so many throw away plastic bottles. There is also some road noise but it wasn't too bothersome. Overall, a great place. I'd stay again.
The setting for this squeaky clean apartment is very quiet and pastoral, a lovely place to sit on the deck and enjoy a glass of coffee or wine (bring mosquito deterrent!). The apartment is full of light, the mattress very comfortable and sheets great as well. It’s located very conveniently to both Catskill and Hudson, where we wanted to do some sightseeing.
That said, there are some things to be considered:
* it is a one bedroom/one bath apartment, not two bedroom/2 baths as indicated in the ad
* Although the apartment is modern and the fixtures are new, not everything works. The fan and light above the stove don’t work, one of the sliding doors to a closet comes off it’s hinges very easily, the dishwasher is shown in the pictures but isn’t hooked up yet (creditably, the dishwasher is not mentioned among the apartment’s amenities but is clearly seen in the pictures).
* The kitchen counters are very nice but they are not bolted to the lower cabinets, so the side panel bulges out.
* The water has a good deal of sulphur in it. The hosts provide lots of bottled water, but you may need more during your stay.
* There were no instructions on how to operate the cable tv.
* There were no instructions on how to operate the heat or the air conditioner.
* The kitchen sink needs a drain plug.
Perhaps these things would not bother everyone, but it is frustrating to deal with these issues. When on vacation, we are looking to de-stress, not to figure out how to compensate for things not working within the apartment.
This place has lots of potential if the owners correct these details - it could be made very pleasant, the yard is lovely, and kudos to the housekeeper, it’s very clean.
